Check out the Chenming 501 AWBU-F It uses a heavy 1.0 gauge steel.thicker than the Antecs ,has a removable HD cage you could suspend with 2-3 drives in it. Could easily be modded to be quieter than the Antecs-and it's $50. They make a slightly bigger one with similar features,$60, 601 AEB-0 Neither...

I’ve not time to read the Google report, but if hard drives are anything like auto engines, it doesn’t surprise me. Not just engines, any mechanical device that expands and contracts when hot vs cold. You take it easy when using your car/motorcycle engine, until it’s had adequate time to warm ...

Nor about airflow, those fans are just going to fight against each other no matter how you arrange them. Wrong! :D The fan on the north blows south. The fan on the south blows south. They're aiding, not fighting. The fan on the east blows west. The fan on the west blows west. They're aiding, not fi...

Whether it’s passive or low airflow, the Ninja is the one to beat. Some of those you list don’t even accommodate a 120, which shows you haven’t really done much research. Instead of keep compiling polls, it might be better to do more research using SPCR reviews and forums, and other sites, suc...

Re: And you wonder why I don't trust SilenX Still!!
So many dirty things about this post. First of all, who posts such a long positive rant about SilenX for their first post on this forum? Obviously, I do. And the reason I did is because there seemed to be a lot of anti-SilenX talk when, to me, SilenX seems to be as good as any other out there. Seco...

Re: Hiper 580W Type R
Should I RMA it? I feel kinda sad for OCuk for some reason  It's you I feel sorry for. OcUK's RMA moto is 'Screw The Customer', but good luck. Those Hipers are getting a rep on OcUK's forums for being unreliable. They'll also fill your case with hot air, because they're enclosures are full o...

That's the kiddie. IIRC, Mike C. said it was the best fan he'd come across, and I think he was referring to all fans, not just 92’s. There’s been some sample variance reported though.jaganath wrote:Do you mean the Kaze-Jyu?I'm surprised the Scythe 92/100 model wasn't included as the reference

Re: Best psu for p150
Nothing wrong with a 120mm PSU in a P150. The problem with a 120mm PSU in a compact case, like the P150/Solo, is that the PSU fan and the rear case fan, are in such close proximity, they are fighting each other for the same air, therefore conflict between the fans, leaving both fans not working to ...

Re: Best psu for p150
I was originally going to go with a p180, but after a trip to Fry's I have been swayed by the p150's stylish looks. The trouble is, the psu that I had all picked out has a 120-mm fan. That's fine for the p180, but not so great for the case I want now. My question is, which psu is best for the p150?...

Don’t be fooled by OcUK’s site and forums. Their service can be on the wrong side of appalling. Much better retailers:

Kustom deliver to Canada, don’t know about Scan.

It’s getting more prolific, and some recent ones containing fraud and viruses, etc. Is it not possible to screen new threads, started by people with very low / zero post counts? So any such thread doesn’t immediately get posted, but waits for a mod to clear it first?

Another Solo user here aho has 2x92mm from fans to keep 3 hard drives cool. I'm using NHB's from Dorothy , which are quieter than a pair of AcoustiFans I recently tried . Keep them turning slow and they don't add to the noise unless you really do have an almost silent case (eg passive everything el...

ISDN not an option, BF? It's a long time since I looked into ISDN, so I might be talking complete rollocks, but I think you don't have to use two lines, you can use just one - but two lines would be that much quicker still. And the 64k, in real world speeds, runs about twice as quick as 56k. I'm tal...
