If I end up with a little extra cash should I go for the s12 over the NeoHE? IIRC, the s12 has only one fan which makes it quieter but might decrease cooling capability. There is no issue with the cooling capacity of an S12. My -430 fan has yet to ramp up above 950 rpm, even under sustained 100% CP...

Will replacing the stock Sonata PSU with something like the Seasonic S12 make a worthwhile difference in reducing noise? That was one of the four best changes I made to my Sonata I. The S12-430 is both much quieter and cooler. The S12 fan has never ramped up above 950 rpm (usually runs about 700 rp...

You might be able to use the Antec fans "screws" backwards - insert the screw through the case mounting frame first, then into the fan, so that the thin end of the screw is between the fan frame flanges. It's not exactly what was intended, but what they heck, you already have all the pieces, so it w...

There appear to be two versions of the 7600GS AGP card: one with several components "above" the GPU chip like this one from Asus , and the more common version with just memory chips in that direction. If the Gainward is like the latter then it seems quite likely it will fit. The Asus design seems mu...

About five minutes with a cheap coping saw and a file (to clean up the edges) will leave the Yate Loon/Nexus/Globalwin corners neatly open. That's a Yate Loon on the left in this picture , notably with Antec fan fasteners like those asked about by the OP. A vice to hold the fan being cut is nice but...

This method sounds very much like that suggested by m0002a a few years ago, using high density foam as "extended grommets." It is a very effective and inexpensive approach with Antec drive sleds.
So just make your own grommets from that HD foam(if I can just find the flaming grommets...)

Any video card that includes a small fan will be loud, but a 9600 XT should be quite easy to cool passively. I'm using an Aerocool VM-101for a similar 9600 Pro that runs quite cool (less then 40C under load) with that cooling device. So the radeon 9600 xt is loud naturally?
