2 seats is going to be a big deterant for people. It may be a good "secondary drive to work" car, but a primary or only vehicle? They really need to make a 4 seater model. Especially considering the average american family is 2.4 kids. Considering the average American family has more than 2.4 cars,...

This'd be pretty easy in Linux, just set up LIRC (the program that receives IR stuff) to associate the buttons with the proper commands. Sounds like Girder would do something similar, and you could perhaps even try it with your old tv card IR receiver before buying anything new. OK, I'll test the O...

No idea if that PSU will power on your system though. And since it's old, it's probably not very quiet either. Well, it's an Antec. It's not as good as my NeoHE, but it's not that shabby noisewise. Anyway, thanks for the other answers, I think I'll go for the 740, if it's a die-shrunk 690 (cheaper ...

Using a remote to control my computers media playback
Hey. I've been thinking lately.... would it be possible for me to use the remote from my Receiver (as in amplifier) to control the media playback on my computer? You can program the remote using 5 digit number codes in order to control other devices, I'm currently using it to control the TV and VCR ...

Thanks, that's pretty much the combo I was looking at. I might go for a cheaper CPU, and try to include a hard drive (29€s) in the budget. Those 2 components are tried and tested I assume, since you mention they are popular, so I won't run into any obvious compatibility issues, right? (obviously u...

Need a low power computer, for like 200$
Hi. My mum's computer is going crazy, and old, and stuff, so I think it's time to replace. I have a bunch of silencing parts available, so what I want is a quick and dirty low wattage system, consisting of: Motherboard with onboard video. CPU RAM I'm rather out of the loop as to which manufacturer i...

Wester Digital Passport - can you open one up?
I'm thinking about getting myself a WD Passport external 2.5" hard drive. Does anyone have any experience with them, and can tell me if it's possible to open the case up, and change the hard drive? (Yes, I realize that this would void my warranty, but I'm thinking about once the warranty is almost r...

Do you know how fast the Gasoline Generator in the Aptera Typ-1 Everywhere can charge the Batteries? I'm somewhat concerned by the fact that the driving motor has 30kW, but the charging one only generates 10kW... I wonder if it can keep up, or if you have to make little stops along the way to allow...

And 20 seconds to 60mph is pretty normal -- most people might even take a lot longer than this in normal driving. Full throttle acceleration is quite detrimental to your fuel economy, anyway. True. And True. But nonetheless, I'd prefer to have more accelerating force, even if I'll use 20 seconds to...
