Re: NVidia GPU always runs full speed when using multi scree
It does downclock. My GTX680 with two ZR2740w's is running at idle clocks in Windows with both displays connected using dual link DVI (displays are running at 2560x1440).

Re: Noctua to use Active Noise Cancellation in new Fan
Not likely. The current high end Noctua was at 15-20€ all the time. When it was NF-S12, when it was NF-P12, even now with NF-F12. So you can pretty much expect this new fan to be sub-20€ as well.PMcG wrote:heloooo $100 fan, considering Noctua's already high prices.

Seems like someone doesn't understand why this technology exists in first place (i mean Charlie). It is not for you, typical home user, you should turn it off. Re: Asus P8Z77-V Pro: Xpert Fan Control for LGA1155
No, i didn't set any overclock settings at all. This is as much stock as possible on this board. I will make more screenshots later. By the way, FanXpert2 works on P8Z77-I Deluxe as well. It has only two 4-pin fan connections, both can be auto-detected and controlled using the FanXpert2 application....

@webs0r : So, when we talk about voltages, i wonder if this is a bug in CPU-Z or is really Ivy Bridge (i5-3570K) going this low at stock on P8Z77-I Deluxe when idling (=doing nothing in windows, pretty much nothing installed, no applications running) ? http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/157/cpuz3570...

It's not the idle voltage...this is Billy's earlier response to you: Then please explain me what the value of 1.048 in BIOS Voltage column on stock row means ? If it means default idle voltage at stock settings, then his 22nm i5-3570K idles at 0.07V higher value than my i7-2600K, which is very hard...

Re: Gigabyte Mini-ITX with H67 - What do you know about it?
H67 being replaced by H77 is the reason. Or should i say : Sandy Bridge chipset generation -> Ivy Bridge chipset generation H61 -> H61 H67 -> H77 P67/Z68 -> Z75/Z77 H61 got no replacement, that is why it stays on sale. H67 is replaced by H77, that is why it is leaving stocks and it is being replaced...

Re: Gigabyte Mini-ITX with H67 - What do you know about it?
I notice that while Gigabyte still treats it as a supported board.... both Microcenter and Newegg has ceased carrying it. In fact it seems like almost no one is actively selling it. Newegg is actively selling the H61 version of this board though. H61 is lowend chipset, not going to be replaced. H67...

You can save few dollars by buying G530 instead (less chache, but still dualcore), but if performance is fine for you, then your choice is good. I use G530+asrock board as my htpc.

Are you sure your CPU didn't enter C6 state for first time when you seen 0.78V ? When i was playing with offset voltage with my 2600K, it didn't look like it affected idle voltages at all - they were 0.9-1.0V all the time.

There is no undervolting for idle clocks for any SB/IB CPU. And undervolting for max clocks ? Set your max CPU/Turbo multipliers, set a stable voltage and here is your undervolt/undeclock.

For your computer you are looking at max 100W idle power usage, more likely sub-90W.

Re: Noctua NH-L12 Low Profile Cooler
Many modern motherboards have large VRM and/or chipset heatsinks that might get in the way, although this isn't an issue for most mini-ITX and some micro-ATX motherboard models. The problem is, can you find a mini-ITX board with enough clearence between RAM and rear connectors for a 120 mm fan? Nam...

@Intel board: missed that one board somehow, thanks for the correction.
And the CPU's being out in Hong Kong means someone is selling stuff he isn't supposed to sell, and pretty pointless if you don't have BIOS update for that part.

@dvdmonster: Considering that Xeon E3 based on Ivy Bridge doesn't even exists, and considering there are no ITX C202/C204/C206 boards, and considering none of the desktop chipsets accept Xeons according to their CPU support lists, we can safely say no, and probably there won't be any.

And the point was, the Big Shuriken costs 30 € and is almost as good as the Noctua with the 92mm fan. So yes, this is overpriced. An no, I don't care about the 120mm fan results because that would make the Noctua almost 100mm tall, and that is worthless for anyone wanting a low height cooler. You s...

I talk about exactly the opposite situation - high GPU and average CPU load. That happens more than often - graphics card at full load at 75-80C, while CPU has only average load and it is at 50C. Normally, for 50C CPU temperature you would set maybe a 30-40% fan speed - but that is sometimes not eno...

Exactly the same situation applies using manual fan controllers, low noise adapters and the like to hold down fan speeds and limit system air flow. Re: Revolutionary Asus dynamic fan control?
What i am sure it will miss and makes it unusable for some will be missing graphics card or hard drive temperatures. It's nice to have such system on board, but if your hard drive or graphics card will be baked because board thinks it's fine to run fans on low speed, then it will be a problem.

If you got the noise like in the video, then your fan is running at 100% PWM, which means your temperature sensor is failed. You should send the microserver it back and request another.
