Re: Akasa Euler Fanless case
When i moved the sata plug from the inner blue socket to the outer blue socket the board no longer sloped as the inner one is on top of the HDD power and sata lead and lifts the edge of the board up with the lack of room from the sata lead bent back on itself.

Re: Akasa Euler Fanless case
LOL yeah.
The only step by step guide i can find is this one.
http://www.howtogeek.com/56538/how-to-r ... it-crashes
Though i'm abut unsure about the part that suggests leaving all ports open.

Re: Akasa Euler Fanless case
Well to answer my own question i've not noticed any real difference in load and idle temps between Arctic Silver 5 and the White stuff that comes with the Euler.Ice Tea wrote:Anyone using the thermal paste that came with the Euler?
Maybe it's because i've only used 35w CPUs and would need more heat to notice?

Re: Akasa Euler Fanless case
@ rotor The only way i can get mine to align was firstly to move the sata plug lead to the blue one on the outer edge otherwise the inner blue one lifts the corner of the board making it slope even when it's pushed down so the CPU posts are uneven. Then to get mine to align i have to push down on th...

Hey Ice thanks for finding that info as i have been wondering what that light was as well though you can't see it when the speakers are plugged in. I'm running the board as download box so i don't have any speakers plugged in. :) It doesn't bother me now i know what it is as i was only concer...

Pappnaas it seems you are correct , Thanks :) http://communities.intel.com/thread/31518 Regret to inform you that Dan_Intel is misinformed. Re: Akasa Euler Fanless case
Hope it's something like that.
Was hoping someone could pull out the speaker jack and check theirs is the same and that it's normal and not some warning error light reflecting from the board.

The i5-3570K is not shown as supported on the DQ77KB support list.....

For not much more you can buy a 45W 3570T Quad Core though it has lower clock speed.

Re: Akasa Euler Fanless case
If you turn off user acknowledgement then the Management Engine requires a username (nominally "admin", but you can change it for obscurity) and a password for access. Intel enforces relatively strong passwords. If you want to go through the trouble of setting it up it will further require certific...

Re: Akasa Euler Fanless case
You still have to authenticate the session. At least a password is required. You can set up TLS certificate based authentication if you like. Also, in my note above, I mentioned the lack of VPN support. The main reason you want VPN support is to move the management access onto a separate LAN with b...

Re: Akasa Euler Fanless case
I just disabled it in the Management Engine BIOS. KVM sessions are just accepted without acknowledgement. This has been a sticky point for me ever ever since i've considered Vpro KVM that i can't get a answer for on the Intel Forums. Doesn't disabling the Bios Key option mean anybody can start a re...

With Intel Vpro KVM don't you find it annoying having to keep plugging in the monitor for getting the session key for remote login?

My Akasa Euler and DQ77KB arrived yesterday............. I don't know if Mike tested it, but I did. My VMWare server running on the DQ77KB and Akasa Euler is completely headless. No monitor. No keyboard. No Mouse. Beautiful thing is I can still access it as if it did have all those things using vPRO AMT remote management! It sits tucked into a corner und...

Re: Akasa Euler Fanless case
Thankyou for the review. I can now see from the pics it would be a lot of hassle trying to fit two drives and using an Msata with a normal 2.5" storage drive would be the best option. Mike did you test that the DQ77KB booted ok without any keyboard, mouse or monitor plugged in for those like myself ...

Awesome thanks piglover for confirming that , as what i posted is the reason i was put off buying a Msata so i'm glad to hear that is incorrect. The reason i thought this to be true is because someone asked on Intel Communities why they couldn't boot a Msata on thier DQ77KB and Dan from in...

I know it would be less hassle to use the Msata but it's just annoying that the mini slot runs at half speed and the Mini Slot is not set as a bootable device unless you have intel raid drivers installed so it's a pain swapping between windows and linux and such.

To keep things clean inside i was going to use wax thermal pads like you get on the bottom of intel stock coolers but as you say it gets quite hot i think that i had better use thermal paste.
