I'm currently running a barton 2500+ at 3200+
1.6v vcore
Thermalright SLK-800 with a panaflo L1A at 12v
Being folding 24/7 for a week now
49c full load

I'd go for a thermalright or a swiftech with a panaflo fan

It all depends what your data is worth to you.
Why not get a barracuda 7200.7, ST340014A.

The panaflows will fit in the Sonata.
They will also fit in the SLK3700 provided you remove the fan holders and drill your own holes.

Arrg. Put it in a airtight zip-lok bag and expell all the air before putting it in the freezer. condensation will kill your card.

Any ATX PSU should fit.

I've fitted both a zalman 400w and a enermax to it without any problems.

I am cooling an XP1800+ CPU with a WBK 68 V1.0 hsink with an 80mm Panaflo connected to a 80-60mm fan adaptor running at 12V. An slk-800 and a fan running at 7v SHOULD cool your CPU adaqutely My possible solution was to improve the airflow inside the case was to add 2 more Panaflo 80mm running at 5V...

zalman 400w very similar to silenX 400w

I just got a zalman 400a-APF.

Comparing it to the pictures of the silenx they look to be exactly the same PSU with a different fan. Has anyone put the 2 side by side for a compare?

This zalman runs very very cool but too loud for my liking. I'll probably swap the fan for a L1a or papst NGL

a 120mm fan is a pain in the x to mount onto a heatsink. have U considered the Panaflo 80mm L1A @ 7v or 5v.

PWM fan controller may be your problem. When I connected my papst 4412FGML to a PWM fan controller then made more noise at 7v than at 12v. Now running 2 at 5v and they seem very quiet.

Enermax 365 replace or mod

Hi, I've come to the stage in the vicious cycle that my Enermax PSU is the lostest thing in my system. Right now I have 2 options 1) Replace the thing with a zalman 300. Yes, I'd like a silentx too but it just costs too damm much to send that thing to Australia. The zalman is the quietst I know that...

What model papst? I'm thinking of modding my enermax as well, but just replacing the fans with some papsts.

I just bought a US$1.5 tin snips to play with. But at the store they had a drill powered nibbler for US$50. Anyone used one of these? On the box it says it will cut through 1.5mm.

If you haven't got a copper slug then you probably need a higher cfm fan.

The fan on the FC II is rated at 27.99cfm. 25cfm seems close enough for me.

what those 4 HDs are? Barracudas? They are barracuda IV's and 1 WD 400BB and 1 old quantum fireball Plus LM. There is a slight hum on the fireball but it spins down when not in use. When the fireball spins down I don't hear a thing. It may be the rubber mounting on the SLK3700. I also don't do RAID...

I've already replaced everything else  so it is the fans making all the noise. I've also had no luck finding fan isolators in Australia so i'll just be using a couple of rubber grommets.
