Changed to a different sensor on the board, and got more reasonable readings: 50c idle and 60c load. They're still high, but i'm working on calibrating that to see what's up. Google tells me this board commonly has wonky temperature readings. The fan: It's good. Smooth sound. So far it's been sittin...

Well... something's not right here. On this system: Athlon 64 2800+ (1.8GHz) Newcastle 754 Chaintech VNF3-250 Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 with an ambient about 25C, I'm getting an idle temp of 71C and a load temp of 73C. My first guess is to not trust the reported temperatures. That small difference s...

Get the one with the continuously variable speed. There are ones that have on/off, or on/lo/hi, and there are ones that have a slider to adjust the speed. Get the one with the slider. This one I have the older one that only does 30,000 rpm, don't know if that makes much difference. It's probably not...

Just got mine.
Going to use it on an 9600xt. I'm waiting a bit to install it, to have a good before/after comparison.

here @ InsaneTek
... and it cooled almost as well as the XP-90 with 87cfm ThermalTake fan...In comparison, it was just as quiet as my Ultra Quiet Panaflo 80mm fan that puts out 24 CFM at only 21db.

Seagate DiskWizard
I've used it numerous times, works great, and besides, it's from Seagate, like your drive.

On the back/forward button issue in Firefox, I generally use the rocker buttons setting. I have a mouse with back/forward buttons, but don't really use them. With rocker buttons, you press the left button, press the right, release the left, release the right. This does forward. The reverse does back...

Two identical sound sources together will add 3db. Trouble comes when they are almost the same frequency. When they are out-of-phase (ie. one wave going up and one going down), they cancel each other out. However, when they are in-phase (both waves going up), they reinforce each other. The sound wil...

Just to note, it looks from the specs that it's the same fan as the SilentBoost . That fan is not 21dBa! The fan is a Panaflo, but the medium -speed one, not the low-speed. I believe that fan is rated at 28dBa, so I don't know where they get their numbers. Beware! (I have a SilentBoost, and it's not...

I've been doing that for a while now. I have a single A-XP system, and I'm running two instances of f@h. The overall points output seems about the same, and it's more fun to watch. The production changes more with the protien it's working on than having two instances. It does use a chunk more memory...

It's in the "common" subdirectory, and it is called user.redir.html. Just change the line with the HTML link to match the one given on your Arachnid stats page. It's called your MOBILE Stats URL. Do take it off for shipping! Here at work, we shipped a machine once, and it arrived with the side panel bashed in a good 4 inches! The hard drive was flopping around inside, despite being screwed in when we sent it. It was a K6-2 (heatspreader), with a small-ish heatsink, so both of those were salv...

I had to stop one folder (xp2000), due to instability. It's at work, and it's not mine, and it has another purpose in life. That leaves me with these: p3 500 p3 1000 xp1800 *2 xp1900 xp2100 Unless I get more machines (doubtful), I think you will be passing me, David. It's more a question of when. It...
