i think that intel would be better than AMD in this case because of how hot AMDs run, i have one AMD system, gave me second degree burn. equivelent rated Intel processor isn't even half as hot. It's actually the other way around when comparing Pentium Ds and Athlon 64 X2s, but with the arrival of C...

I'm still trying to decide if I should get the Ultra-120 or Ninja. Can a 120 do fanless on an E6600 fine? Keeping in mind the problematic mounting of the Ninja, would I get lower temps without a fan on a Ninja or Ultra 120? I also noticed that the HR-01 has the same push pin type mounting as the Nin...

...use this with the socket 478 mounts on the Ninja Rev. B to cool an E6600 passively? Would it be a better option than the push pins?[/url]

How about this instead? Would using the 478 adapter on the Ninja Rev. B and this kit work better than the push pins? The reason I'm not getting an Ultra 120 is because I will be passively cooling my C2D and, based on this forum, the Ninja is a better heatsink for that.

urgh stay away from Intel boards. They maybe stable but thats about it, go for the p5b or gigabyte 965-ds3 if you don't plan to overclock. What's wrong with Intel boards? My experience with Intel boards has been better than any with any other board manufacturer. Some of them may be featureless but ...

Would there be a noticeable difference in noise if I used an Ultra 120 with a fan vs. a fanless Ninja? I'm kind of leaning towards putting a fan on the CPU heatsink because only 2 fans in the entire system seems risky as far as temperatures go. Also, wouldn't the PSU absorb some of the heat from the...

Hands down, Intel Bad Axe 2. Intel boards are the most stable boards I have ever used. I will be getting a Bad Axe 2 myself when I build my C2D system later on this year. If you are ever trying to figure out which mobo to buy for an Intel platform with no intention of overclocking, Intel boards shou...

Would this work?
I'm planning to build a Core 2 system soon (in about 3 months), and my goal for this build is ultra silence while maintaining good performance. My question is would it be possible to use the Thermalright Ultra 120 heatsink fanless with an E6600 at stock? The power supply to be used is a Corsair HX52...
