In addition to all the above: as high a pressure curve as the fan can handle, preferably even when undervolted. I suppose this'll mean the fan will draw more current than usual so will have to use molex connectors. But of course i'd like an rpm output like the ones on PSUs (just the tach & ground si...

I am not doing RAID. Only have a single SATA disk and a PATA. MB is Asus A8v Deluxe. I know, but there should be an option in BIOS that says "enable RAID BIOS". My suggestion is rethink your setup :)

I run my Nexus fans @ 700 rpm @ 32C ambient room temps.

Granted I don't have filters but then there's a huge difference between a 700 rpm Nexus and a 1000 rpm one.

Yes but the hole molds and the blade design on that aurora fan is identical to the Nexus/YL orange ones.

The Mist fan holes & blades look more like the coolermaster fans IMO. OTOH, the hub struts are YL type (and that's an unusual setup) so.... ???

idle temps are not a good way to test the efficiency of a heatsink. There may be background processes running that you may not be aware of, etc. Best is to run a load program like CPUBurn or Prime95 and compare the load temps. I'll agree that your temps are just fine. The nexus at full speed makes s...

That looks like a great & cheap setup. For the harddisk, I'd say Samsung drives are a tad quieter but you DO have to suspend. The difference is night & day. If you don't go samsung, don't worry, the difference isnt all that big when suspended. Some melamine foam also helps keep the edge off harddriv...

Even an open grill like the Sonata's (or the 3000b) can make quite a racket, especially with a slow/quiet fan like a nexus/yateloon. While the case looks like a good idea initially, from prior experience with the setup (see Odin in sig), I can say that's a first class ticket to cook your suspended harddrives. One reason I chose the suspension method I did (see Thor in sig) is because if I ever need to transport my case a proper foam gasket on either end should keep the drive cage from rattling around during transportation yet still allow easy & quick install/uninstall.
