So technically your mobo doesn't draw the needed current to start up the PSU, which won't change with adding an additional harddrive, fan, etc. Hope this helps, Vlado Hum I might have misunderstood something somewhere, but I remember having read You could make something like this yourself -- all yo...

I have this case. Actually, I just builded a new HTPC in it. But of course airflow will not be that good in this case, just by the look of it you can notice it. I'll make a little user review just for you with my MOD to create some airflow in the case and also to give you some temperatures. The SPCR...

Re: Load Resistor - would this work?
That's overkill, it's a high precision resistor.... not necessary for such a "dumb" application. Try this one for 39 cents . Any electronics parts store should have them -- even your local radio shack. http://www.partsexpress.com/images/016-022m.jpg Yeah, I know it's a little overkill but I like th...

I go with Devonavar! I own 2 WD2500KS. When I purchased them, one of them was noisier than the other, so I went back to the store and asked for an exchange. Both ones I have actually are about the same noise level. One of my friend got a WD5000KS, and I can say that it is definatly quiter than a sin...

43C for a Core 2 Duo with stock cooling is normal at idle. You may try running two instance of Prime95 (Small FFT torture test), for about 5 minutes, and then check the temperature of the CPU. If then the temperature is below 60C, even 50C, everything is under control. 32C is pretty good for an hard...

ok guys, I need your help. I'm trying to find the Thermalright XP-120 CPU cooler and can't find it anywhere. All of the e-commerce I know of, have it backordered. BigFootComputers are saying that it is discontinued and have been replaced by the SI-128, but the SI-128 is too high for my HTPC case.......

I also prefer temperature around 20~23 celcius. Higher temps are too hot for me, I'm toasting, and below that I can manage to survive if temperature doesn't go below -15 celcius. But I'm sure if you ask at most people who lives in northern country, they will prefer cooler winter than hotter summer. ...

Where to buy Etasis in North America? (preferably in Canada)
Hi guys, I'd like to known if anyone of you knows where I could buy this power supply Etasis EFN-300. It is a fanless PSU, reviewed here: http://www.matbe.com/articles/lire/117/alimentation-etasis-fanless/page1.php . I've found the review quite interresting. I wouldn't mind ordering oversea, but shi...

No, but I'm very intersted in buying one, even if it is VERY OVERPRICED. But I'm waiting for the SiulentPCReview on it to see how the HDD mounting perform. Everything else is fine for me. The previous HD160 had super HDD noise vibration with his mounting platform. I would like to build this HTPC: Za...

Sorry my bad, it is said: "S-type heatsink clip- allowing heatsink to rotate 90 degrees on the CPU socket.(For HR-01, Ultra-90, Ultra-120, SI-97A, and SI-128)" on Thermalright website.Mari0-Br0s wrote:Exact, the S-Clip won't work because the Ultr-120 require you to remove the motherboard bracket to install it.

I've read the SPCR review about the Nexus NX-9003. But LOL THIS ISN'T QUIET LOL. The fan is insane once it's turned on!! i don't know that particular psu but maybe a little fanmod and an added resistor could remedy that? Well I wouldn't mind modding it, but I don't have any idea how to do that :P ....
