sgmihai, I am assuming you have removed the plastic bezel but if not press two bottom tabs and pull the bezel gently straight towards you. The rails attach to the drives flush to the bottom in such a way that the little springy things on the rail end face the front of the drive. The rear of the driv...

Sorry, I did not notice your location. I am slow in thinking global.

I received the ArctiClean and tried it to remove embedded thermal pad residue from a stock AMD heatsink. Although I had previously cleaned the heatsink with acetone and 99% isopropyl alcohol, the ArtiClean was effective in removing some residue not removed by the acetone. The ArtiClean is also super...

I do not have a link to that post but I believe it was by Ralf Hutter. I cut out the corners of my 120mm Nexus with a utility knife. The plastic corners are almost as soft as butter. Reviews show that the fan cools best when blowing towards the HS.

Thanks for the tip. Reviews look good so I will order some of this. It will be interesting to see if ArtiClean will remove the residue that I can see remaining after using acetone and isopropyl alcohol. I will post results.

Complete removal of thermal pad residue from Athlon64?

Does someone have a method to completely remove thermal pad residue from a processor? I have tried acetone and 99% isopropyl alcohol but I think some deep residue remains.

When I decided to do a fan swap on a Zalman 7000 I searched SPCR forums and found a simple and effective fan mounting method. Scotch double sided tape was used to attach the new fan securely while damping vibration.

I would get a 92mm fan. I am expecting delivery tomorrow from Jab-tech.com of an aluminum xp-90 ($35) and a 92mm Panaflo L1A with rpm monitoring ($7). Total cost with shipping of $48. I may buy a 92mm Nexus later. The Panaflo L1A pushes more air but the Nexus is quieter.

When Zalman first offered the CNPS 7000 (before A and B versions), a replacement backplate was not provided for AMD motherboards.
