sgmihai, I am assuming you have removed the plastic bezel but if not press two bottom tabs and pull the bezel gently straight towards you. The rails attach to the drives flush to the bottom in such a way that the little springy things on the rail end face the front of the drive. The rear of the driv...

I received the ArctiClean and tried it to remove embedded thermal pad residue from a stock AMD heatsink. Although I had previously cleaned the heatsink with acetone and 99% isopropyl alcohol, the ArtiClean was effective in removing some residue not removed by the acetone. The ArtiClean is also super...

Complete removal of thermal pad residue from Athlon64?
Does someone have a method to completely remove thermal pad residue from a processor? I have tried acetone and 99% isopropyl alcohol but I think some deep residue remains.

When Zalman first offered the CNPS 7000 (before A and B versions), a replacement backplate was not provided for AMD motherboards. Instead, shorter nipples were provided to work with the stock backplate. At one time Zalman support offered these shorter nipples at no charge to customers who requested ...

I installed a Panaflo M1BX made in China. In my system the fan stays at ~800 rpm but it makes a soft clicking noise. I would like to find a Japanaflo M1BX. Jab-Tech has a Japanflo L1A but I am not sure it would cool enough. However, based on the comments made above, I might consider a lower airflow ...

On my ss 400 the stock fan had three wires. The power and ground wires went to a two pin connector which attached to a male two pin connector which was wired to the pcb. The rpm monitoring wire (along with a ground wire attached to the pcb) went directly to the motherboard. I removed the stock fan b...

A suggestion for people looking for an simple way to improve the Zalman 7000. Buy a 92mm Nexus real silent case fan. From Radio Shack purchase adhesive velcro pads (the weaker velcro not the hook and loop). Remove the fan from the housing and attach with velcro pads on the bracket and the fan. The f...

Hopefully, they will reply. If not, removal of the backplate may be the best option. I have not done this but I did research the procedure. People have successfully used warm air from a hair dryer to loosen the adhesive and a credit card to pry the backplate loose. You would need to be careful about...

filete, Hi again. My system is very similar to yours. I have found that Cool'n'Quiet lowers my idle cpu temps about 8 degrees centigrade. This will help prevent your power supply fan from ramping up. I have my Zalman 7000 AlCu connected to a fanmate with the lowest voltage. The fanmate is connected ...

That may be ok but I am not sure. When the 10mm nipples are used you can be sure that the cooler is at the proper height and tension. Also, with the nipples used the two flanges on the cooler seat firmly to the nipples and there is no side to side play possible. I got the idea to email Zalman for sh...

Will Zalman break/bend the k8v se deluxe
Felete, I mounted a Zalman 7000 alcu on my k8v se deluxe without removing the stock backplate. I did this by obtaining shorter nipplles from Zalman that are designed to work with the stock backplate. The stock backplate protrudes 4mm above the surface of the board. The nipples that you have are 14mm...
