It's absolutely hilarious that silverstone is now venturing into the world of watercooling without a favorable spcr review in any product category since the st30nf fanless psu. The recent tj-07 was panned as being too vibration prone and the st56zf was so noisy it wasn't even reviewed. The substitut...

I have a hardcano 13 and would skip it and go directly to a t-balancer. If possible wait for the new one - t-balancer bigNG. You will have to setup the temp/rpm profiles and other settings under windows, but the controller will run independently of the os. You still may be able to monitor fan speed ...

I think tibors posted the information. It was in a response to a comment about the relationship between voltage and rpm.

The 120x38mm silenx looks very interesting. The fact that 38mm fans push more air at the same rpm seems important to quiet computing and I wish the subject could be explored further. I would really appreciate a mini review of the globalwin ncb vs the silenx 120x38mm when adjusted for similar airflow...

FC, Adda is probably making the s-flex for sony and scythe is either sourcing the fan directly from adda or through sony. Getting hold of an adda equivalent to the s-flex would be similar to ordering a panaflo FBA12G12-??? made for IBM in 2003. Anyway, your review found that the s-flex was noisier t...

The s-flex bearing is a little different from a typical sleeve bearing. It bears some resemblance to the sunon maglev with magnets that stabilize the impeller shaft. The s-flex magnets stabilize one end of the shaft while the maglev bearing surrounds the entire impeller shaft with magnets. http://im...

The only thing that Sony owns is the the s-flex trademark. As far as the bearing, a patent has been applied for, but it is still a basic sintered metal sleeve bearing. These are simply pressed powdered metal cylinders that support the blade assembly shaft. Sintered metal is very porous and can conta...

I would recommend an mcp655/laing d5 or an mcp350/laing ddc (10w or 18w) and an externally mounted radiator similar to the swiftech apex ultra + kit at - www.swiftnets.com You should post you system requirements at www.xtremesystems.org to find out exactly how much radiator you need. According to this review - http://www.pro-clockers.com/article.php?id=41&page=3 the fan in the st60f is an adda similar to the models used in seasonics, but a high speed model instead of medium or low. With a good watercooling system your temps should be in the low thirties at idle and low to mid forties loaded. I don't know much about the reserator, but I would consider a more conventional system with a quiet pump and radiator with two quiet fans. Your cpu will never be > 50c. Edit - Sorry, I did...

The term FDB is not very specific. It has been applied on this site to panaflo hydro-wave bearings, some hard drive bearings, and the scythe S-Flex. Panaflo uses a dynamic FDB with grooves that flow lubricant along the bearing length even when mounted horizontally. The sony FDB is a static sintered ...
