At least verkkokauppa lets you return pretty much anything you physically picked up at the store. There's some limitations regarding some produts. Something like clothes shops not allowing returns of underwear unless they are defective.. Some other shops also have better return policies than ...

given your mindset you should be taking this up with consumer affairs every country has a local one in one shape or form and it's down the road, not across the street OP wouldn't even need to contact consumer affairs. In Finland we have two weeks to return a product, if we are unhappy. One more goo...

I have to agree with Matt Damon. It's scary to think hockey mom will be the president next year, when McCain dies out of old age.

Ever walked around your house at night with the lights off? Extend that to the whole world, that's all being blind is. You can soon get used to it and your sense of hearing improves no end. I think you got it backwards. Try walking in the middle of the woods with your eyes closed, or go to a busy a...

i think a lot of us share thejamppa's feeling though... valuing hearing over sight. maybe that's why it seems like so many of us are "audiophiles" and why we're on this board in the first place... SOUND IS SUPREME I'd much rather lose my hearing. Hell I'd rather lose my legs, hearing and one eye, t...

Old-school people, like myself, use Ctrl, Shift, Insert and Delete for copy/cut/paste. Not having the Insert key there instantly makes the keyboard completely, and I mean completely unusable, at least for me. If it's anything like other logitech's, insert is located above the delete key. Anyway Ctr...

Hi Carl, We have capital punishment, and yet we still have murders. You cannot bring an executed innocent person back to life. Nothing brings the victim back to life either, and revenge is ugly. We have guys like Jarmo Koskinen. 1979 he killed two people. He beat the other guy up and burned him to ...

The size of the case doesn't bother me, I've hauled much bigger stuff to lan partys before. I've now ordered the computer with the same specs as in my original post except for the gpu, which is now an MSI HD4850 512MB, and the psu, which is now a coolermaster silent pro M500. You had perfectly good...

I've had button problems with my last 2 case's, but I don't see them as a big deal. With my Nexus, the hot glued power button got loose, the switch itself works, but it's pretty hard to use. Solution? Plugged reset button to power button pins. With my NSK3400 the power switch cord snapped. Solution ...

If I were specifically trying to avoid the Solo, but wanted something with a similar layout, I'd probably try and get hold of a Lancool K7 . It's Lian Li's "budget" range, but IMHO it's nicer than the more expensive models, which have always left me cold from an engineering viewpoint. Depending on ...

I have pretty similar build. I don't think it's your k8temp sensor. It's AMD chipset that "acts strangely". Try HWMonitor . I'm using it with XP, but I don't see why it wouldn't work with Linux. k8temp is a specific module that would work only in Linux, for now i blame him for this misreads HWMonit...

Also, you're not going far back enough. Before Athlon 64, AMD's Socket 754 Athlon already marked the new trend for AMD. Before Socket 754, AMD processors might have been cheaper than Intel, but they were generally less efficient and hotter. It was only after Prescott that AMD was less expensive, mo...

Prescott and any Prescott successors had to die, to nip this BTX disaster in the bud. The only way that was ever going to happen would be if Intel felt seriously threatened by AMD and dramatically reversed course (which, thankfully, they did). You give AMD way too much credit. Even without AMD Athl...

Years ago I bought a Sony G420 19" CRT for about €700. It was a great monitor and I was happy at 1280x960 85Hz. Then after roughly 3 years and two months it died on me (3 years warranty *growl*). I got a 17" Dell Trinitron (that would make it a Sony tube, right?) for cheap, also a very good CRT. ...

If it were me, I'd get 2 Accelero S1's and strap a fan on the sides. Anyone have a picture of how that would work? Zip-tie one end of a 120mm fan to one of the S1's and other end of the fan to the other? Would that fit in an Antec Solo (I'm thinking of buying it)? Can't say for sure, but that's pro...

I too love SPCR, but SPCR too has its share of fanboys. Just look at the current AMD vs Intel thread. There was very strong pro-AMD atmosphere before Intel released Core-processors. When Anandtech released preview Conroe benchmarks I made a thread: "Conroe destroys AMD", because the benchmark result...

I'm going to chime in on this. I bought my MX-1 already last year and I have to agree, it's terribly loud especially compared to my computer. Few weeks ago I changed my external hard drive to WD GP. Somehow I managed to hit the fan connector. It has really poor connection, so the fan stopped spinnin...
