Re: NF-S12A 120mm fan, third generation.

Finaly S12A with PWM, I've been waiting for this for a long time! It will be pricey, but it's first fan that has a chance to replace my Slipstream PWM! :D

Re: Define Mini passive i7 DAW

No, not at all. Moduvent (that thing that covers fan hole) is basicly thin hard plate with VERY soft foam on it. I think that foam is unnecessary touch, I'm sure that 12x12cm soft foam in the middle of the side panel won't do any dampening. You can put side panel on very easily, you can't even feel ...

Re: Low RPM PWM Fan

If you will not use it at high RPM, those numbers aren't important, but if it bothers you for that few seconds.. I was able to get my Slipstream PWM (VERY good fan!!) to about 330RPM (max 1400RPM) and Kama PWM for my PSU to 280RPM (max 1200RPM). I don't know if Kama PWM is even selling right now, bu...

Re: Define Mini DAW (update: PWM PSU Fan)

Yup that's what I ment by QuietDrive 3,5, the size of the box is 3,5', the larger SQD is 5,25 :)

I don't know what to do next, but smal SQD in some sort of suspension system would be awesome, that would complete this silent rig..

Re: Define Mini DAW (PICS ADDED!)

1. I could remove hard drive cages and put Quiet Drive on the floor, but I admit I like how that case looks right now.. I'm thinking of using 2,5' hard drive in 3,5' Quiet Drive, but I'm not sure yet.. Since this case is such a pleasure to work with and rig looks super cool and tidy, I might actuall...

Re: Define Mini DAW

HR-02 have no problem dealing with that CPU, fan stays at 430-ish RPM and temperatures never exceed 65°C. Currently I have problem with hard drive, for the last few years I've been using Scythe QuietDrive and that 1TB hard drive was impossible to hear next two 400RPM slipstreams, but now I use only ...

Re: Define Mini and HR-01+

From Fractal support:
The Define Mini will Support CPU coolers with height of ca 160mm, so yes it will. There is some extra allowance space, so it will clear just fine.

Define Mini and HR-01+

Hi!

I'm planning on buying new PC and using my old HR-01+ with new LGA1156 Bolt-Thru Kit (I hope it fits on 1155 board, does it?). I also like Define Mini, but I don't know if it's wide enough for my cooler..

Any info, will it fit?

Re: Certified Silent Puget Serenity Pro

The motherboard contains a fan RPM profile that regulates the speed of the fans to the temperautre sensors. While Asus QFAN technology helps quiet a system, is it inadequate when dealing with a PC as silent at the Serenity SPCR Edition. We custom program the fan RPM response curve, making the fan R...

How were case fans controlled? Was CPU fan PWM, were case fans running at fixed speed or controlled by motherboard?

Re: Video card for Adobe CS5 - silence please

I've had the same issue with choosing a graphic card, since i'm dealing with graphic design and Adobe CS5 tools (PS ext., Illustrator). I've narrowed my choice to Sapphire HD 6850 and MSI GTX 460. I was concerned about 6850 because of Adobe CS5 features and nVidia's official support for Adobe (CUDA...

oh common just give them a chance.. Corsair psu's fans can spin up to 2000RPM, but that doesn't mean that they will spin that fast all the time. Like Apple haters on other forums here we have TT haters. I admit I would never buy TT product unless SPCR recommends it.. in past they had crappy, loud an...

Well, after more testing/listening rear fan isn't a problem, it's fan on heatsink, producing turbolent sound around the fins. Fortunately HR-02 will solve that problem.

I don't think that I understand U-shaped duct idea, could you describe more?

Thanks for comments!

It made a lot of difference with me. I was removing only rear fan grill and woosh sound was gone, I had Slipstream@720RPM then. Now, I do it with any PC which is meant to be as quiet as possible, mostly this type of mod eliminates sound of air moving trough PC.

If your goal is to make your PC as quiet as possible, putting multiple fans without experimenting is... well not very smart decision. 4 or 5 quality fans will be quiet but avoid any unnecessary airflow if it's not needed. 10°C lower GPU temperatures mean nothing unless it's necessary to stay on a s...

When silencing PC, all it matters is that you stay on safe full-load temperatures :) But sure I understand your decision. BTW what type of cooler do you use on your GPU? If it's blower stock fan exhausting hot air directly out of PCI slots you only need more positive fresh airflow, so I think two ex...

Are your temperatures in Solo really too high? About fan placements, I would avoid putting fans on top because it's closer to human ear and I think it would vibrate too much because fan won't be attached to strong body of the case, but this is just a guess, it depends of structure and materials of c...

It's heavy, almost too heavy, but I can't wait review, based on the size and Thermalright's great performance/size ratio it should easily beat HR-01+ and make possible for passive/semi-passive cooling even overclocked hot processors.
