 I have a duct from the outdoors to my computer, but my room stays at the house ambient even with the door closed. My room seems to be a heat magnet. :?

PS. Sometimes gloves would be nice, but usually I'm fine without.

I don't mind putting $500 on a video card, and I'll stay away from the 9200. I haven't been able to find a good store locally that sells the 9800 non-pro. (I don't regard Powercolor cards as real cards. Bad name for pimpin.) The poorist of the 9800 series I could find is the 9800 Pro with 128 MB. I ...

Suitable replacement for GF4200

Since I am becoming increasingly annoyed at my geforce 4200 128MB due to random freezing in most resolutions above 1024*768 except 1280*1024 with color set to 16bit, AAx2, AFx0. I want to replace it, obviously with a Radeon 9X00. The 9200 (with TV out) is about 130$ Cad ($150 after crappy government...

Adjustable speed fan - feasable? -

I was think earlier today about making a fan that would have a kind of limited speed control built in, and I wanted to ask you guys what you thought. The fan would have 3 positive inputs and one ground each input would power a pair of copper coils surrounding the hub, and there would be three levels...

My MBM5 was set to the wrong sensor for 6 months, when I set it properly the reported temp was in the 80s. The paper sticker on the cpu was burnt off, and the brown area around the core was very dark brown.

It still works fine. :)

I'll also have to praise the ZM80C-HP. My GF4 Ti4200 works fine OCed to 340/600.

It only uses case airflow, two 120mm 5v YSTech (one intake, one exaust) the intake blows in the general direction of the card, but the flow is not focused.

It's FBA08A12M, just a standard M1A.

The S wire made me curious.

It doesn't have a wire, but it has a terminal labeled S. (+ - S) The back of the fan is 7e22ed-1a.

What does the 3rd wire on a non-BX Panafllo do?

What does the 3rd wire on a non-BX Panafllo do? On the BX it monitors RPM, but I can't figure out what it does on a standard one.

And I have looked.

2U custom case and ZM80C-HP on a riser

I am building a completely custom 2U case for a full ATX desktop computer. Everything will fit, but I'm not sure about my graphics card's heatsink. (the ZM80C-HP)

Will a ZM80C-HP fit on a 2U AGP riser in a 2U case, or should I make the case a 3U or 4U?

My GF440MX can barely do 20FPS on my machine in UT2003 if there are any bots around, even with all detail set to minimum. But without bots I can get up to 220FPS at medium detail.

I wouldn't recomend it

Good. Temps pls?

I did some reading though, and I think I won't get a 9800pro, from what I heard I'll get a 9600Pro and OC it. (i heard they OC well) But the problem would still have been basically the same.

Has anyone had good experiences with the 9800Pro and ZM80C? I was planning on getting a 9800Pro 256MB or even a 9800XT at some point, but if it doesn't work well with a ZM80C and 2 M1As then I won't be getting one.

I think that this was discussed in an earlier thread, but what about adding some heat sinks on top of the blocks? As they are hot, so extra HSs could drop the temps bit. Or would the lower delta T cause the heat transfer to be less efficient (to the big HS, that is)? Thus nulling the effect of adde...

80mm fan with 26.5cfm gives better cooling than a 92mm fan with 29 cfm.
The 80mm fan can focus the airflow closer to the core.

Temp sensor on the Abit NF7-S Rev.2

I seem to only get the MB mounted sensor in MBM5. I'm pretty sure that the CPU temp is much higher than 35°C. Does anyone know how to make MBM5 read from the on chip thermal diode instead of the MB thermister?

Well than that would decide it. I wouldn't have thought that a FDB motor would decrease the noise that much, but if it does, it would be the one.
