Re: Biostar NM70I-847 - cheap 17w Celeron 847 + motherboard?

I think that the Xigmatek( This one ? ) NB heatsink is a bad choice - unless you make a four-point mounting system with support on the CPU. All the low power CPU's have the bare silicon as cooling surface - pretty easy to chip/crack. I'd rather go with the Enzotech CNB-SI ; smaller, but enough to co...

Re: Simulating duplex printing?

When you choose to print a multi-page document, you can choose to print only a subset of the pages, like odd or even pages - that's the "poor mans" duplex printing: choose one run of even pages, turn around and reload the printouts, then choose to print the odd pages. This choice is usually on opera...

... I have the speed sense wire from the new fan poking out of the PSU case and tied up safely for now, and I may hook that up to the PSU_FAN header at some point and see if that'll give me RPM without a 0V on the same header. First, the measured start-up voltage: 3.92-3.95V, depending on the position(horizontal or vertical), so it's safe to assume 4.0V as general start-up voltage. Re: Changing fan in Corsair TX650 V2

Yes, I'm the one with the Scythe Kama Flex in the Corsair TX650 V2; the original fan model# is D14BH-12. The info on the net about this fan is contradictory, according to Yate Loon the max RPM is 1800, some other reviews say 2300 or 2800 - so take your pick. IMO the RPM is around 2800, because I "fe...

I might, except I can't try it until I remove the Noctua, and if I destroy the rubber mounts that are holding that in place, then I won't really have the option later. So it's kind of a pre-req. I'm going to work at it some more tomorrow, and if I can't get them out reasonably, then I'll just have ...

If the K199 is inherently louder I don't think it'd be a good option for me. Re: Need some advice for a 1U cpu cooler

An extra Noctua NF-B9 PWM will operate from 300rpm to 1300 rpm. The rpm is the primary single factor in determining, among reasonably well designed fans, which fan will generate the most noise. Putting aside the fact that fans that share the design of the Dynatron K199 have a reputation for being i...

The 212EVO has no gaps between the heat-pipes on the processor contact side, unlike the 212+, which has some gaps; result: more surface for heat transfer.
