Sounds like a pretty ideal set-up to me. You're running with one less fan most of the time.

Do you think the PSU fan is running so much faster that it's generating more noise than the fan on your Ninja would add if it ran continuously?

Nice review Devon, but Mike, your postscript really takes the review to the next level. With the postscript you: 1) emphasize the independence of your site, 2) remind readers of your connections and 3) question what's wrong with the industry. It does make you wonder what goes on in the Gigabyte test...

I would think any TV tuner card would work. I use a Hauppauge 150 for PVR duties, but it would be perfectly suitable for what you're doing. It has composite and s-video inputs. Hey Beyonder, My Excel Spreadsheet is available here . If you took the time to run a similar test, it'd be neat to see how well the two results line up. My Dell Inspiron 8600 is wrapping up it's 4th(!) year of service as I type this, and just a few weeks ago I found some excellent free software tools to improve its battery life, lower operating temperatures and quiet the cooling fans down. Since I am a reasonably well read computer enthusiast, and I...

Also, would you run your ventilation system continuously? Otherwise the computer would have to be designed to operate under different cooling conditions.

Aah... The X1900 has "Dual integrated dual-link DVI transmitters." I was confused by the repeated word use. One would think this would mean you could drive four monitors with only one card, but I didn't see any reference about that.

Can one graphics card run 2 30" monitors? I was under the impression that a 30" monitor required a dual-link DVI connection, so only one per card. Maybe my understanding is outdated.
