Uh... that CPU fan looks like 60mm. Changing that, and using quiet fans would probably help alot.

The drives will be in front of the air intake and possibly have a fan. Cooling will not be a problem, just wanted to know how much trouble I would have keeping them in place.

I was thinking of using this stuff to dampen three harddrives, stacked one on top of the other, then strapped down. Is it sticky enough to keep it from moving from side to side? Also, do you think 1/4" might be better because of the weight of drives on top?

Replacing the stock fan in my zm300a made a world of difference. I too had to remove all the inerts of the psu to mount the fan with EAR isolators. I taped up the bottom grill to keep the psu from sucking up all the heat from the cpu. No fresh air duct. I dont think the fan ever goes above minimum.....

Well Im really happy with my NF7-S except for the small details listed above. Another feature of the DFI is the 4 SATA plugs which would have been nice.

If I were to do it again, I would go for the DFI.

...............AT STYLE cover  I just meant that the cover is one piece and not three pieces like most ATX cases.

It is microATX. Its a ~2 year old HP computer. It came with a 100W powersupply, so some modding is necessary to fit the components that I want.

And I like the way it looks. The front has nice noise baffles, with good airflow. I might have trouble filtering it, but Im still going to try.

Cutting metal, AT style case

Im currently cramming a powerhouse computer into an HP Pavillion 6830 (TINY) case. To do this, I will need a passive power supply. This case has the one piece, AT style cover. To mount the PSU, I need the left door to go on separately. I need some suggestions on cutting off that side right at the co...

That heatsink already looks pretty massive. You could try removing the 40mm fan and aiming an 80mm at it while keeping an eye (or a finger) on temps. Im not sure how hot the ti4200 gets.

Beautiful :D :D :D

Custom bezel aswell? If not, which one?

Does it handle NB cooling?

A uATX version would also be nice.

Have you tackled HD mounting? (Suspension/hardmount)

Well I would prefer a black case :) I thought the Abit NF7 was perfect when I saw the centered socket location. Other helpful details might be the number of heatpipes, as well as cooling ability. The price sounds fair. Is it just a generic case? Or have you chosen a specific (or known) model?

I started pricing heatpipes to build a case with a cooling design similar to your first article. If you could provide some basic information (without giving away your secret ), as well as an approximate price, we would have a better idea of how interested we are. Depending on how powerful your CPU is, you might be better off trying something like this.

You might have trouble pulling the air down through your PSU. And just place your HD in front of the air intake. Which might be better in front of your case.
