Selling the cards might be the soloution - on average SLI seems to give 10 - 20 %boost in Games. But does give about a 50% improvement in benchmarks .(like people play benchmarks all day) From what I have been reading these PSUs (ATX 2.0 ) are designed to an Intel Spec. that did not include SLI - an...

The sonata has been vent modded and the filter removed. I have 4 of these sonatas and once the front bezel is modded and the filter removed they don't run that hot at all. P180 I will not place my opinion of it here - I would get flamed off the forum. But I still have my old 3700 AMB - the Sonatas d...

I looked up the specs on the fan from it's numbers. Fan is ADDA - AD0812UB-A71GL ADDAs pdf says 0.45 amps/5.4watts/3900 rpm/50cfm/41dba/ball bearing Panaflo m =0.124amps/1.49watts/2450rpm/32cfm/28db Panaflo h =0.173amps/2.08watts/2950rpm/40cfm/32db If I was to use a Panaflo h :( It would drop my max...

I just checked out that site - and followed links to some other sites. a/ It appears to be common but not universal b/ it is not restricted to the Asus boards c/ it seems only to afflict the SLI versions of the boards. So it looks like it is an issue with the Nforce 4 sli chipset more than just a ma...

Thanks frank - I will have a look at the other forum. I think it is the video cards heating every thing up , but the PSU does spin up after playing games then drops down again 5 to 10 mins later - it is more the nature of the noise than the actual loudness and the two video card fans seem to interac...

Quote MikeC There may be something about many newish boards that doesn't play nice with true ATX12V v2.xx spec'd PSUs, of which the Seasonic S12 is one. I heard recently that in order to allow backward compatibility with older spec PSUs (???), some boards delay powering up the 12V line for a brief p...

Personally i'd suggest you replace the psu altogether. A seasonic s12 500w Seasonic is one of the first 3 I had problems with along with 2 Antecs . Admittedly the Phantom500 was a bad idea in this machine (it does work exceptionally well on my old Asus P4C800-e system though) and a HE which is onmy...

A8N-SLI Premium - A64 dual core fully loaded = Dramas !
After completing my build of an A8N-sli premium system I wound up with a nightmare trying to find a PSU that would actually work stably . In the end (to cut things short ) I wound up going to a shop that I frequent and just plain trying different PSUs. The only PSU I have to date found that works is...

I was running an fx 5600 with a zalman hp cooler fully passive - no problems. newer faster cards are harder to cool but it can be done. It depends on how quiet "quiet" is to you and how much time effort and money that "quiet" is worth to you. There are as many soloutions as there are consumers. I am...

I have used a Leadtek fx5600 vivo with a Zalman ZM-80d hp with no issues (even through a couple of Aussie summers) these cards do not produce a great deal of heat (compared to the likes of a Radeon 9800xt or a 6800 ultra or their ilk) The one I was using on my linux box worked passively in an Antec ...

I have an ATI -3 cooler on a Radeon 9800XT and after a year the fan is starting to rattle badly but it have never had the clicking that others have had . CPU cooler for Soltek EQ-3401M
I have just bought a Soltek EQ-3401M - Qbic SFF barebones (cheap) and I am looking for a cooler that is not much bigger than a stock Intel cooler - but is quiet but can still cool a P4 Northwood 3.2ghz cpu (currently I am using a Swiftek but with a panaflo L1 at 12v) I get load temps at 67deg C and ...

I have used Automotive Silastic (a silicin glue) to glue a fan on the metal piece that the original fan screws to and after about 8 months I have had no problems - but this was on a 7000 not a 7700 - although I believe the mounting to be the same . silicon adhesives are a bit softer than epoxy so th...

IMHO - go with the SI-97 - the only Athlon XP cooler I have had that out performs it by any margin is an Aerocool DP102 - at the expense of noise . And the SI-97 has no compatability problems that I know of . Just a note the DP102 is now serving on a 3.4gig PressHot and cooling it well but not Silen...

I have used a few TT products primarily due to availability in Au - but although they can mostly be made to work well (usually) they rarely work out of the box and their performance claims are usually a bit suspect to say the least (close to B.S IHMO) - For me $300+ U.S plus shipping would be way to...

That would depend on what CPU , what case , and what intended use . The Zalman cannot keep my 3.2 Northy cool at anything less than full speed (63c under heavy load - in use not Prime 95 etc ~ not game to as it might overheat ) An XP-90c which I replace the Zalman with gets 57c at load with a Panafl...
