you could also try the CM stacker case, its got slots for 4 120mm fans on the side. you could have the top two slots blowing at 1000rpms onto some passive coolers.

Out of all things, I think harddrive vibration annoys me the most. I think you need someway of getting the vibration dealt with =) Nice case though. And nice picture lighting.

damn, that sounds pretty quiet as is. I have a single 800rpm 120mm scythe fan on the back of my case and its frickin quiet!! You could always block up the top hole. Antec makes 120mm block brackets for the nsk2400. maybe you could order one.

i'm starting one using novibes III and some acoustipack material. I am going to block up the front bezel with acoustipack, remove the fans entirely so its just the two output fans. I also am going to switch the left and right panels so the windowed side is invisible and the covered side will have ac...

the hooks I'm referring to are the plastic/rubber hooks on the side panels. they snap off too easily. I honestly think that within a year most people will be missing at least one. It's just as lame as a power button falling out, a cd-rom drive button not working, a power supply buzzing. It's a manuf...

p190 addresses my main complaint

honestly, my main complaint with the p18X series is that the f*****g hooks break off. the p190 doesnt use stupid, cheap plastic hooks. thereby, I am going to purchase it. what todo until then though.... I wish it were out already god damn it. I just purchased another p180 and the anxiety those side ...

I just want to say that, being new here, its good to know I'm not the only person whose noticing these things. My roommate, as far as I can tell, thinks I'm crazy because I'm always swapping out computer parts. I can offer a few noticeably loud whiny things... Gateway FPD2485W: power supply, right o...

it can be. theres a lot of it during the boot sequence, then a pause, then when windows comes up. It'll die out after windows mellows down, but then its little stabs of electric sound when I move the mouse around and drag windows. throttling the cpu up high seems to silence it....

SPCR ARTICLE REQUEST: 100% silent PSU mod [kill coil whines]

Well, I've read (back to 2001) that a lot of us are unsatisfied with our power supplies because they whine when doing things, idling, mousing, whatever. I think it would be great if, on these forums or as an official article, a power supply was selected for modification. It would most likely have to...

Okay, lets say I didnt wanna RMA and wanted to, instead, do something about it myself. How hard would it be to put hot glue onto these offending coils and silence the problem? I could care less about the warranty. I'm sick of going from PSU to PSU in hopes of getting lucky. I would feel much more li...

coil whines, component interaction, inevitable madness...

I have two power supplies and both have an inherit whine which I can't seem to get my head around. They are, an antec earthwatts 380, and a corsair hx520. It seems that theres a noise beyond the fan noise which sounds sort of like electricity doing something or another. It's kind of like a higher pi...
