sound damping pads

has any one used camping matts (stuff you out under your sleeping bag) as sound damping pads to line the inside of a case with... and how good is it compared to like that egg crate foam padding

dual cores?

ok the question i have and was unable to find on this site was that say you have a 2.0 Ghz Dual Core proc does that mean each core is 1.0Ghz or that each core is 2.0Ghz?
