I have heard of this same problem with the Thermaltake Tsunami case fans. They just sometimes dont start at 12V without a push.

I guess thermaltake will probably replace them under warranty, but they are not very good fans at all, and I personally would just replace them with better fans.

Yes, the window will most likely reduce the P180's ability to absorb sound, but I dont believe that the difference will much.

I would much prefer a window over the slightly increased absorbed sound
