170mm sounds about right, but you can always move the fan down so it so it's flush with the top.

The pump noise I mentioned was after I cushioned the board to limit vibration which definitely was a problem.

I just have a small request for future SPCR reviews on fans, i love fanXpert2 and recommend it a lot, and i see why its so useful for reviews also, im even doing a database and testing all the fans i own. But on Asus motherboards, there is a limitation that for me its important to take into account...

We didn't observe any heat issues with our sample chip. On our CPU test rig running Prime95, the temperature stabilized at 67C (according to CoreTemp), ambient was 21C, Scythe Kabuto @ 800rpm. Power draw from wall: 149W AC.
