Nice job. I have think something similar. Except buying those heat pipes and manufacturing sinks from some industrial sinks. But I'm quite happy with my water cooled rig. And actually don't have the money for it.

And remember guys that volts don't kill people, amps do.

Well yes... I was partly wrong. But the reduce is not really much. But it depends the level of sound before that. And you should put absorption material to roof also.

I'm having a fever so my text could be harder to understand than usual.

It probably won't work because of reflections. Sound does not act like light.

Buy a pack of bitumen and foam which are meant for cars. Insert bitumen every where in the case. On top of that insert that foam. But tear the foil or other coating of it before. Otherwise it absorption capacity is reduced greatly.

Tried to defeat coil whine

Ok, I have a relatively quiet computer. Noise sources are water pump (Eheim 1048) soft mounted, Samsung SP1614N in Nexus Drive-a-way which is soft mounted also. AAM on 128. And PSU. Which is Super Flower 400w, but swapped fan on ADDA AD1212DX-A73GL fan which is quite quiet. My biggest problem is HD ...

Well to be serious... It is possible that the sound is traveling through building structures. You cant do much about that. Well yes. But in water blocks sand blasting will improve cooling power significantly. So why it wont work in air cooling also?

I don't know much about thermal physics. But I'm a student of an environmental science and we use polishing to reduce radiating temperature.

Well that litre/hour dosen't really tell how much it will pump on against pressure. I have Eheim 1048 and it sure does not pump what it has rated. But it's not really a big deal of how much it will pump. Well some blocks will need a pressure do operate on them highest capacity. But then you should u...

I have thought that also. You really should test that. I have read that in water blocks sandblast inner parts improves cooling power quite much depending a type of block. I can't test that because my sandblast equipment is an 600 km away...

That second one is propably good if you rip that foil of. But I'm not sure if it is an open cell foam. If it not, then it wont absopt much. I explain those lamels in finnish. Eli siis pitkittäiset lamellit sinne kanaviin. Sillä saavutetaan aika isoa vaimennusta. Lähes kaikki kaupalliset ratkaisut...

Nici sed things right. When you by foam you should check that it's open cell foam. I mean that the sound can easily go in the foam and so on. I would make a bit longer canals also. The longer the sound travels in an aborpet canal the better its absorpts. You should also make thightenings in canals s...

Well, first thing is to figure out that how much absorption material you have in the room. This is important because if you have very low room absorption you will have higher sound levels than in well dampened room. Specially first level echos should be dampened. Next thing is to isolate the hard di...

I think that Genelec has a volume control on front of some models... But I'm not sure. But my opinion is that get a good pair of monitors or a stereo amp and passive speakers as mentioned before. If you really want a good quality, stay away of those computer speakers.

Maybe an acetone works. It's quite cheap and is quite powerful solvent. So it might solvent the foam...

I would start wit power tools and continue with acetone or somethin else solvent.

Well... Noice cancelling is a good tech, but I think that it dosen't work with pc:s very well. Because it's normally reduces noice to one direction and ad it to another. I suggest that you build a air/water cooled system in a insulated cabin with noise traps in air canals. I have an watercooled syst...
