fwiw a reviewer said of the 325 VA, 185 Watts version: Once I got it home and let it charge for a while (about a week actually) I tested it with a measured average of approx 60 watts (1/3 max load). It fell a couple minutes shy of what the APC data would have me believe but still kept things lit for...

FWIW, I got an APC UPS at compUSA for about $25 apparently someone got one for $10 US on sale once. http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=312016&pfp=BROWSE9&pfp=cat3 is it. 325 VA, 185 Watts Admittedly it won't keep a monitor and all the extras going on a true high end gaming...

Re: Anyone else have heat issues with the Seasonic S12 serie
Hey all, I've mentioned in other threads that my Sesaonic S12 is dumping heat into my case out the little back and side vents. I'm wondering if I'm the only one. Anyone else notice this? If so, did you replace it and with what? Thanks, BoB This is an excellent thread. I've seen lots of good informa...

One question. I already own Wiss M-6R and M-7R "Metalmaster Snips." How do these differ from the M-1R and M-2R you recommended, and are they equally suitable? It looks like the shape of the head is somewhat different, but it's not clear to me what this means in terms of usage. Can anyone answer thi...

Nothing wrong with the adapter it just wastes 2 of the 5.25" drive connectors that you might need for something else. If you aren't running out of power connectors you are OK. BTW if you got the sleeved 430 you'll get 1 PCIe connector. I hope for your sake you do. It's always nice to avoid another a...

Uggh, great and I do mean great review . I'm just still slightly peeved at Seasonic. Neither the US or International websites have PDFs for the new S12 series. So the quoted changes list is a collection of data from retailer ads and word of mouth on SPCR. It would be nice to see HTML or PDF on the s...

I read most of the tutorials regarding psu's and did the extreme psu calculator which calculated that I needed 287watts. I don't know much about this stuff so the mention of the importance of the amerpage got me. My system is old by today's standards I guess. Abit IC7 Max III motherboard 2.4 gig pe...

You can actually get away with the S12 330 with your current setup. To "future proof" yourself you can just get the S12 430. The S12 500 and 600 are simply an overkill unless you plan on having a real high end system with either Crossfire or SLI. I might put in a high end graphics card in the futur...

To me, it sounds like SLI / Crossfire aint very attractive from a silent point of view: * Double heat. * In case of active cooling, double noise. * In case of third-party cooler, double mounting work, double cooling price and double warranty risk. * The obvious double VGA price. But usually only 10...

Re: CnQ with OC?
why is it reccomended (sometimes) to disable CnQ when overclocking? Because extreme overclockers don't use the SPD timings for RAM and often run well above the DDR specs. When CnQ kicks in it changes the dividers and can end up overclocking your RAM more than is stable. If you aren't overclocking t...
