Re: Opinions on XFX Pro 750w Black Edition PSU
Well, I've just saw a picture of both PSUs, and the XTR750 has also the same manufacturer code: XPS-750W-BEF. Marketing at its finest ? But at least it has XTR750 written all over the place, on the psu iteself and also on the box. So I guess that's it. If it's says XPS-750-BEF AND Pro Series, it has...

Re: Opinions on XFX Pro 750w Black Edition PSU
Great then, thank you for your help. I've one last question. I've seen many different XFX PSUs with very similar names and also with exactly the same part number, which is kinda misleading.. For example, the XTR750 and Pro Black Edition 750 are labeled under the same model code, a little weird being...

Re: Seasonic G- or X-series?
That's probably the infamous "coil whine" which this platform is not exempt to. Keep it until you can stand it. Well, I can't stand it anymore... It keeps occuring now and then, not being very constant though. Sometimes it's gone after a few minutes, as I'm typing this it has been (clearly audible)...

Re: Is Seasonic S12II still a good option?
The seller said they would send it to XFX and they will address the issue. They added that they've had RMA cases for coil whine and XFX gave a replacement or repaired the unit. The PSU has 1 year local warranty. Then I've to deal with the 5 year warranty with XFX by myself. The RM750 has only 6 mont...

Re: Opinions on XFX Pro 750w Black Edition PSU
Also, the fan on this PSU (adda ad1212mb-a70gl) is rated at 38db... Just because the XFX Pro 750w is based on a Seasonic X-750 does not mean that it is one. One difference is the Adda ad1212mb-a70gl fan which is not the same as the one fitted to the X-series. It is the same as the one fitted to Sea...

Re: Is Seasonic S12II still a good option?
So, given a 36C and <300W environment, neither PSUs' fan should be spinning. The caveat being your case, the case placement (is it stuffed in a cubbyhole or in open air), and airflow through the case. The case is placed in open air. Now I have a low end case. It has a Noctua NF-A14@750Rpm as intake...

Re: Is Seasonic S12II still a good option?
I've also founded the XFX Pro Series Black Edition 750W in stock. I've read it's based on the Seasonic X-Series KM3, that its a X-750W rebranded - Is this a good thing? It's price is exactly the same than the XFX XTR750 and the Corsair RM750: $210 The quietest PSU among the quoted ones is the RM750,...

Re: Is Seasonic S12II still a good option?
I've been away from the research because there was still no stock of PSUs here. But, some units have arrived this week. I will list them below ...Corsair CS650M... This PSU is Gold rated and that is verified by Corsair . It is semi-modular, so some cables are permanently attached but the rest you ca...

Re: Is Seasonic S12II still a good option?
In terms of silence an older PSU like the S12II is not such a great choice. It's 80 Plus rated, but not Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum or Titanium. As such, it will output more waste heat and that waste heat needs to be got rid of by a fan which will have to spin faster than in a newer more efficie...

Is Seasonic S12II still a good option?
I'm willing to get a new PSU. I had asked on this thread about changing my current PSU's fan because it has allways been noisy, but I've decided to replace the whole unit At first, I was convinced to buy a Seasonic S12II-520w after reading SPCR review of the 380w model , but after doing more researc...

Re: Fan replacement for a CM Extreme Power Plus 600w?
A replacement certainly need not have the same top speed. Around 1900 to 2000 rpm ought to be OK but finding a 3 pin fan in this speed range is becoming increasingly difficult. One fan you could consider is the Scythe Slip Stream SY122512SH. It has been reviewed by SPCR . Whether this is a very goo...

Fan replacement for a CM Extreme Power Plus 600w?
Hello, I'm trying to lower my case noise as much as I can.. And I have this PSU since 2009 and its stock fan has got very noisy. It's a Cooler Master Extreme Power Plus 600W and the fan used is a brushless model from ADDA: AD1212US-A71GL http://s27.postimg.org/mflc763dv/ADDA.jpg Specifications provi...

Re: Choosing a quiet 120mm fan for hyper212+
I'm sorry, but I don't well understand you: whether the original question was about a replacement fan for the Hyper212 heatsink, what do these two 3 pin voltage controlled fans have to do with the adviced 4 pin PWM F12 fan? I have ordered the adviced 4 pin PWM F12 fan, but I'm still waiting it to a...

Re: Choosing a quiet 120mm fan for hyper212+
Having read this thread Noisy GlideStream -- Vibrations? , I'm considering getting a Zalman Fanmate 2 to regulate both fans, maybe I can reduce the NF-A14 noise. But I still don't know if I have a defective sample. Is there any possible way to test this? I don't have another one to make a comparison...

Re: Choosing a quiet 120mm fan for hyper212+
Anyone also thinking the Scythe Slip stream 1200 Pwm is quieter than the NF-F12? Perhaps I wasn't clear: at least up to 800rpm I prefer the Slipstream, sound-wise. But the SS isn't an overall better fan than the F12: the Noctua is better built, it is likely more reiiable, it has less samples varian...

Woops, the Noctua for $30 is out of stock. The one that is available is $35.. Shouldn't have waited this much.

Choosing a quiet 120mm fan for hyper212+
Hello forum! First post here I'm trying to decide which 120mm radiator fan should I get. I have been reading spcr reviews and looking through the forum but I just can't decide. The more I read the more I confuse.. Firstly, I'll let you know my rig: CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 Black Edition 940 3.0 GHz CPU...
