I'm going to try slapping the Zalman NB heatsink on it this weekend and see how it does. Sounds like it's not been done before, and I'm as good a guinea pig as any. I've heard of it done, but I don't remember on what cards (but with only the older orange one). My biggest concern about the zalman NB...

I feel like re-resurrecting this topic, so here goes: I have a 9600 pro vanilla, with stock HSF. I want to change this to a passive heatsink, and have three options in mind. A) Zalman ZM80C-HP ($25ish) - will certainly cool the card well, but it's heavy and the warnings about moving the computer ma...

If nothing goes wrong, I might want to remove it and reuse it when I upgrade my video ca...

silencing a GF4MX @360mhz with a zalman cpu heatsink

Hello, I'm new here. I have an ASUS 9180TD (MX440-8x) which overclocks to 360mhz core / 620mhz ram (above which it artifacts), which seems to be the loudest component in my system(based on stopping the fans one at a time). I'm planning to quiet it down by replacing the stock fan with a volcano 8 ( h...
