I think it will work just fine, inputs generally have high impedance
and will not behave like a resistive load at low frequencies (a few
MHz and less)

General answer: You shouldn’t worry about the noise level at maximum load, since it's unlikely that your system draws 300W. The test doesn’t say anything about the noise levels at 150W, which much more interesting. I haven't tried the FSP300-60GRE, but FSP PSU’s are usually good value for the money....

I just unsoldered a pin at the voltage regulator that is internally pulled-high. What pin depends on MB, CPU, and the desired voltage reduction. In my case it was a L6917B regulator from ST, on a A7V8X and a Palomino (at the time). I don't remember exactly what pin I unsoldered (I can check the next...

Besides, it's very hard to pick the right fuse value, as it's a very fine line between what current is high but ok, and what is not. Fuses are usually there to protect the wiring and other components from burning up completely, not necessarily to protect them from damage at all. Third, fuses add som...

daatkins You're right. What's even worse is that your GFX probably use the same rail (directly or indirectly via the combined +3.3V /+5V rail). But as pointed out so many times before: the maximum load is less than you think. My Palomino 2100 +GF4ti peaks at 120W (given n~68%). That’s plenty of hea...

Case temps went up 12 degrees C (from 28 to 40) when I stopped
the rear case fan ([email protected]). For some reason the CPU temp
didn't change that much, but both HD and GF4ti(ZM80A) got really hot.

1) Is the point of adding diodes to reduce voltage 0,7V per diode? When I buy some diode is there some requirement or is any diode suitable? Yes, and it works vell for small voltage drops (a few volts). Almost any diode that can handle 0.5A forward current will do. The problem about nexus is that I...

Re: PSU whines with CPU usage??? WTF?
After a day of usage I've discovered the PSU whines when cpu usage rises (which happens to occur when I autoscroll with the mouse wheel). Is this a normal symptom of a PSU gone wrong or what? It's most likely a CPU idle program (App, OS or BIOS) that causes your whine. I disabled CPU-idle as soon a...

You have a 'noise killer' sticker on it? just checking. I tried another fan in mine (Papst 4412) but it turned out to be complete disaster. So loud! Even though the Papst ran much quieter outside the PSU (compared with the Yate-loon fan (ball bearing)) So I removed the fan grille, added a case exhau...
