since i will using just Aluminium and Gold throughout the entire system, is an anti-corrosion water additive actually needed
Corrosion can occur every time you mix different metals regardless of how pure they are, so I'd go for anti-corrosive additive.

Reserator 1 Plus comes with water additive. Even if I were to buy original Reserator 1 now, I'd use that, just to be on the safe side.

When it comes to fanlessly operating Reserator, it *might* be possible, if you tailor your system to it. I once forgot to turn on my Reserator and it took some 1.5 hours of desktop use for machine to overheat - and I am running system with Radeon X800 XT and 130nm Athlon64 3500+, so it should be pos...

But hey, if you happen to live in US, this site sells them: http://www.case-mod.com/store/120mm-cas ... -1708.html

It's too bad they do not ship to Europe :-(.

I have to say that hunting down a place to sell those Yate Loon UV fans in Europe is a tough job.. These are obviously Yate Loons, as even graphics have been copied from YL website and model numbers match, but specifications are completely different to what YL website tells: :-o http://prisguide.har...

My watercooled chassis project

Hello everybody! After trying to figure out how to mod existing ATX cases to truly support my needs, I became frustrated enough to give myself a try at designing and building chassis on my own. Of the fact that I post about the project here you might already guessed that silence/quietness is one of ...

And Zalman has now released the Reserator 1 Plus which comes with their own anti-corrosive fluid. I haven't seen any reports yet, but I bet it's there just to address the pump problems. They sell it also separately, btw, so I recommed all Reserator owners to get some from their local store. And abou...

I'd probably go for Y-dividers and putting GPU and chipset in parallel with each other. I think a parallel section would obstruct waterflow much less than 180 turns.. Or then put chipset before CPU in the loop and GPU after it - chipset doesn't warm water so much and there is tons of heat headroom i...

I found some pictures from time when mobo was not in chassis. I actually ran the machine almost a month just on top of the cardboard box to make sure everything works - and it was almost quiet enough even there, right before my ears. The first picture shows stock Asus chipset cooler, which is really...

Here: http://zds.iki.fi/zds/temp/HPIM0423_sm.JPG Sorry, image quality is poor and angle is weak, but as my MB is inside chassis, chassis is on the floor and my camera is cheap it's really hard to take decent images of the installation. Units are centimeters. But anyway, as you can see, in longer dir...

Of course it does :-). It just surprised me that it ran *so* long, especially considering that my machine is pretty hi-end gaming rig. While I of course do not recommend it to anybody, it's relaxing to know that Reserator-cooled machine does not die instantly if you forget turn on the pump. As Reser...

Pretty sure. I have tried turning on all the stuff one at a time and listening to the sound, and Reserator is fine. BTW, did you know you can run Reserator-cooled machine *one and half hours* without pump on before it crashes.. I once forgot to turn it on and machine ran 1.5 hours without it before ...

As a reminder, when determining the available slots, remember that you can only use the primary PCI-E-x16 slot in single video card configuration. The lower one is only for SLI mode. This means that there is not so much room between chipset and graphics card. I have Asus X800 XT with Zalman waterblo...

Running fine

After all these horror stories, I inform that I am proud owner of Reserator that works as expected. I am cooling both CPU and GPU with it and it's been in heavy (altough not 24/7) use since August 2004. It has become a little noisier over time, but it's still on completely acceptable noise level. Mo...

Motherboard - Abit AV8 PSU: Seasonic Super Silencer Revision A3, 400W. I personally favor Epox, since I have had problems with Abit quality, but for a silent PC, almost any modern motherboard should go, as long as it works and lets you fine-tune voltages and clock speeds. For PSU I can heartly reco...

I just noticed that the Reserator has a tiny hole at the top. Does anyone know why this is preferable to a totally closed loop?
I assume it's there to balance pressure. I further assume that closed loop works better, if it has same pressure than atmosphere outside.

I get an impression that vibration levels vary greatly; Rusty reported the vibration causing notable sound if reserator is placed on the floor, but I have mine on light wooden _desk_, that should by my understanding echo the vibration quite readily, and yet I am to hear anything from the pump. As I am not the reviewer, I cannot know for sure, but I suppose it's just impossible to measure noise generated by this device. It is just below anything measurable. I have number of ultra-quiet components at my home, and from all of them I can hear _some_ sound, even from the quietest fan at lowest...

I recently bought this one, and I absolutely love it. It was maybe the best 250 euros I have ever spent. As I do not live in acoustic chamber, I just jave not been able to hear any sound from it, under any circumstances. The review was good, but it could have used some pictures of the actual test se...
