Yeah, it'll fit. I don't know how that guy managed to put the silver bracket by the capacitors, though... he must've been in danger of snapping the caps right off! I put the blue bracket by the caps instead... I have no idea why Zalman says the blue one has to be beside the socket lever. And of cour...

We expect to see all you schmucks in the Top 100 soon, OK? Oh, don'...

Well I will be moving soon to Canada, Vancouver to be more precise, so I am mainly looking at resellers in BC. Also I need to try to get everything from 1 eventually 2 shops to keep shipping costs down. Vibecomputers are cheaper than ncix, they have the zalman at 53.95cad but they don't carry Inwin...

Well, I just got an L1A from Directron, and it's made in Japan. It does not click--at least, not to the point where it's noticeable outside the case. I'm running mine at the full 12 volts. At any lower voltage, it just doesn't move enough air. It's a tradeoff, I guess. It's true my 5v Panaflos don'...

Canadian Corner: my two Panaflo L's (FBA08A12L) from Bigfoot Computers a month ago are made in Japan. Would like to mention that I'm very happy with Bigfoot -- low shipping costs, good deals on Zalman and ThermalRight. You're lucky. I just bought 4 of them from Bigfoot and they're made in China. Th...

I found out where the high pitched whine / ringing was coming from. It wasn't the PC at all. It was coming from *cough* the fridge on the on the other side of the wall where by PC is located..... Hahahaha! :D I had a similar problem once... I was wondering why my monitor suddenly developed ...

not sure about the cpu cooling I would like to save some money on that. ZALMAN CNPS7000-ALCU at 64cad is to expensive slk-800 36cad + panaflo 10 cad any cheaper and efficient solutions? You looking at the NCIX.com website? They usually have good prices, but IIRC, they charge $64 for the Zalman, whi...

OT: How do You get 4V easily? Or do You just use one of those Sunbeams? I've been trying to come up with a way of getting < 5v into my 7000A-AlCu as well. I haven't tried this myself, but if you fed 5v or 7v into the Zalman Fanmate, couldn't you get lower than the 5v you'd normally get at the lowes...

Just curious, when did you buy your 2500+ and 2600+ CPUs? My theory is that the later a CPU is made, the better its chances of getting a good overclock. I've been thinking of getting a 2500+, even though they're all locked now, but if I can easily get 11x200, I'll be happy... and if my theory is cor...

Quite some time ago, I thought to myself that Pete should be dubbed "the unassuming crafty bugger", and I think its now time to air this view publicly. During our race to the first 1000, he jinxed my efforts to successfully set up F@H clients as services, thereby costing me the victory.....AND NOW ...

Yeah, I agree with johnjkr... a new (good) PSU usually fixes the problem. For me, it was the combination of nForce2 motherboard, Radeon video card and Enermax PSU. Do you have another PSU you can try? That'll narrow it down for sure. If so, the only things hooked up to it right now are the motherboa...

I haven't heard either, but from what I've read here, the Papst is definitely quieter.
The Panaflo shouldn't be too hard to find... if you're in Canada, try www.ncix.com. What I'd like to know is, where can I buy a 120mm Papst?

On my Biostar board, I have no control over the ratio's, so I can only conclude that the nForce2 maintains 33MHz PCI and 66MHz AGP regardless of FSB. You would be correct. nForce2 boards keep the AGP at 66MHz and the PCI at 33MHz at all times, which is great when you're trying to overclock the FSB....

One of the questions which has been asked, but not adequately answered in my mind, is whether Folding@Home Work Units can be completed "successfully" by a cpu that is not absolutely 100% stable. Can a cpu make "mistakes" and yet complete WU's? The possibility disturbs me. This bothers me, too. Ther...
