Re: p6t deluxe p182 I7 920
How's the 9600GT doing for you? I'm thinking that if my old card or fan ever goes, I will downgrade to a fanless card (not a gamer either) or one of the low-end workstation type cards.surfer wrote: ASUS EN9600GT Silent - no fan (not a gamer)

Re: New system woes
Last but not least I cannot get speedfan to work to get my fans to slow down. Considering the temperatures ramping up under load I don't want to set the fans at a constant 5v or 7v, but now my motherboard runs them at full speed. It's a gigabyte ga-ex58-ds4 and I bought in part since it's listed on...

So in the bottom chamber of a P18X, a PSU whose fan is on the back may perform better than one with a 12cm underneath? Unfortunately, I really don't have a clue since fans and cooling are not my area of expertise. <speculate>I would think they're both "bad" since the one underneath (which is what I...

Nice stuff! What kind of case is that in the mini-ITX system? Also...nice pictures. Could be in a professional review. Thanks. That project actually went over budget due to the case. I wanted to make my own using plexiglass (or similar) but gave up after 30 minutes trying to cut it straight. Had to...

Some notes on fan placement
Hi y'all. Some notes taken from our techlib on fan placement. My reference for this is the following: Steinberg, Dave S.. "Chapter 6 - Forced-Air Cooling for Electronics". System three
The last system is also a rebuilt and upgrade. This is the "noisiest" of the three but still quiet considering where it came from. When it is on, I could hear the air flowing through the case. System details are as follows: Case, Zalman Fatal1ty CPU i7-920 running at stock speed Graphics nVidia 800G...

First one
The first system is a new build and replaces my ancient, noisy and LED-laden home web/e-mail server. This is the quietest of all three since there were no mechanical components used and cooling is entirely passive. System details are as follows: MSI-IM945GSE-A motherboard with Intel Atom N270 proces...

Three new builds/rebuilds...
Hi. First of all, thanks to the people running this site and contributing to the forums. Reading this site has helped me choose the correct set of components to assemble/rebuild quiet running PC's. This is documentation and photos on three recently built, torn-down and rebuilt systems I have. My mai...
