Have you tried contacting Scythe? I'm sure they sell them, and if you ask nicely, they might be willing to ship one to you free of charge. Another option is to use this Thermalright RM and the P4 mounting clips if you still have them. This is how I mounted a Ninja on my AM2+ system. http://www.svc.c...

ECS makes decent products actually. They're just not popular among enthusiasts because they traditionally haven't had a lot of tweaking options to appeal to overclockers, most of their boards are pretty basic and barebones. The Black series are trying to change this perception, though, and are more ...

Recently started noticing an intermittent buzzing from my Dell S2309W. Brightness >=75 seems to stop it, but I can't stand keeping it that high. The buzzing also seems to be getting worse. I've had this monitor for probably close to a year and wasn't having these problems until a month or two ago. N...

TBH kind of wishing I would have gone with MSI for my latest build, their boards seem to be more power efficient. Gigabyte still makes great stuff, though, and they're really good about BIOS updates. They've already added support for the new Phenom II X6 on my 785G board.

More mini-ITX choices is always nice. I noticed Gigabyte had some other mini-ITX boards (I think they were all Atom based), hopefully they will continue to branch out into this market.

Interesting review, and considering it's only 2/3 the price of a P183 it holds up astonishingly well in comparison. Cheers! Agreed. This paragraph sums it up pretty well IMO. Unfortunately for us, people upgrading their Dell PSU to standard ATX is a lot more common than people trying to fit proprietary Dell PSUs in regular cases.

I've searched as well and the appropriate adapters just don't seem to exist.

Nice little system, good work on the PSU mod. :)

Would be so much easier if you could just buy adapters for the ATX connector and back plate, though. I bet a lot of SPCR users would be interested in this PSU if it didn't take so much effort to install in an ATX case.

Hmm, I don't know. It sounds like you set things up properly in SpeedFan, so it should work.

A screenshot or two might help. If you don't mind, maybe take some with the drop-down menus for the chip and the PWM mode open so we can see all the choices available here.

Click Configuration in SpeedFan, then the Advanced tab. Select your Super I/O chip from the drop-down menu (it's probably made by ITE) and this will give you access to the PWM modes for the fans. You should be able to change them from BIOS control to software control, and that will allow you to adju...

You can use software like K10stat to adjust multi without breaking CnQ. If you don't want to rely on software for this, though, probably best to get one of these chips.

I'm sure these parts are OEM only, best bet probably is to keep an eye out on eBay for system pulls.

FS: Samsung 1TB 7200RPM - SOLD

Have a Samsung HD103UJ with 10,300 power on hours for sale. This is the older 333GB/platter model, it doesn't use 500GB platters. Drive works great, but I'm replacing it with a quieter/lower power 2 platter 5400RPM model. Looking for $50 shipped (OBO) within the US.

Heatware is under frostedflakes.

I bet 240e+785G would be pretty comparable to the i3-530+H55 in terms of power consumption. i3-530 offers much better performance, though, so if you're looking for max performance per watt and the extra money for the Intel setup isn't a problem, that's what you need to go for.

AMD's been using strained silicon since 90nm IIRC, and Intel's probably been using it just as long or longer. And MtnHermit is right, I'd worry about actual results and not marketing jargon. Keep in mind that you wouldn't need a lot of airflow. According to the SPCR review the fan is "very quiet" at 9V or 7V, and this should provide more than enough airflow. You could also try mounting the M350 out of the way (behind a monitor, for example) instead of just sitting it on the desk where t...
