Very interesting. I was considering the Seasonic S12 330w, but if this is cheaper and/or higher in efficiency, I may try it out.

Any word yet on availability in the U.S.?

I also believe this may be memory related. What I would suggest is to move the memory around and try it in different slots. If that doesn't work, tweak voltage, timings, etc. and try to find a stable setting.

Check out posts #22 and #23 in the thread I linked to for pics of my cooling. It is an XP-90 that has been modified to mount through the two holes surrounding the CPU socket.

If you don't want to do any mods, I believe the SLK-948U and Alpha A64 heatsink both work without out-of-the-box.

These do use the same 754-pin package as the desktop chips. They are lidless (a.k.a. lack an IHS), so you may need to modify your heatsink to make proper contact with the CPU die. In most cases this is very easy to do, and simply involves sanding down the retention bracket. The DFI Lanparty UT NF3 2...

Yup, I post occasionally at XS under a similar name. I was planning to buy my Turion from memoryexpousa.com, but a couple days the Turion category disappeared from their site. So I'm not completely sure if they intend to sell them anymore. I sent their sales staff an email, and am waiting for an ans...

That transistor stuff sounds like BS to me, but who knows. I'm still trying to get my hands on an MT-34 (1.8GHz, 1.1v?). I'll be sure to let the SPCR community know how it works out. Even if it isn't an uber overclocker, 25w is appealing. If a person could even undervolt it a little, this would be g...

The 25w line will be extended to 2.2GHz by Q3, though (as long as AMD doesn't have any unexpected yield issues). I'm waiting for Turion, but am faced with the dilemma of 25w 1.8GHz vs 35w 2.0GHz? The 10x multi of the ML-37 would be nice, but I'll probably end up going with the MT-34, which is about ...

I'm sure manufacturers of "enthusiast" boards, such as DFI, will include the neccessary microcodes for Turion support. I doubt many of the overclocker-unfriendly boards will, though.

I don't know, I just couldn't see Intel completely abandoning Netburst in favor of the P-M architecture. Definitely not for their server line, because Netburst has always done well with encoding/rendering/office-related tasks. Last I head, P-M was staying mobile. Maybe they have a 65nm P4 on the hor...

I actually have a nice little space between the top of my PSU and case where I stuff all my unused wires. Modular connectors are nice, but you can just as effectively tidy up by hiding cables above the power supply or in the 5.25" bay area as Tibors mentioned. Just my $0.02. I think it still would'v...

Seasonic S12 330w

Has anybody seen one of these for sale in the US? I haven't yet, but hopefully they will be soon. I wouldn't think they'd be that expensive. I say a member on here who mentioned MicroCenter has the S12-380 for $85. So I'd imagine the 330w version would be around $70?

Thinking about going 2.5"

Just curious, how do 2.5" drives compare to 3.5" drives as far as noise and heat output? I mainly browse the net, and run F@H 24/7. That's about all my PC does, though. I'll Photoshop every once in a while, or rip and encode a DVD. Maybe play a game every couple weeks, lol. So would I be fine with s...

They've been around for a while (before December I think, maybe late Q3 '04/early Q4), but this is the first vendor I've found in the US that keeps regular stock and doesn't charge an arm and a leg. :) The 130nm low-power mobiles look very good, but I have yet to find a store that doesn't charge $20...

Save for the lack of dual channel, this is basically a 939 Winchester. I don't know where you read that DTRs perform worse than the desktop chips. Clock for clock they should be the same, as with any mobile. They're the same cores, without the heatspreader and in some cases rated for a lower voltage...
