Kryptonite, I decided to go with the DFI nForce4 Ultra. Ordered one today in fact. The reason I chose that over the Neo4 was the Chipset is cooled by a much quieter maglev fan. Both mobo NB coolers may require replacement with a modified Zalman cooler however. The CPU placement on this mobo will pro...

Neologan, Sorry to hear of your unfortunate conversation with Mr. Kim of Tekgems. I can understand your frustration but it sounds like he feels that you are too risky a customer to do business with (perhaps there was more to this conversation?) Seems strange that he would cancel your order for no re...

Frankgehry, Yes, but the model # is simply 8025M-blk. There is no B or S designation like the 120's have. Seems strange that they would do this but most people probably wouldn't know or care about the difference. According to Yate Loon, these fans are 29dBL at 12 volts with no difference between the...

I hate to keep asking, but has anyone tried the 8025M's yet? I guess not. Seems like most are only interested in the 120's (understandably) but I have an older Antec 130 fileserver case I am going to be using these in. I have five in a box so I will try them out tonight and post my results here in c...

I ordered 5 of the 8025M- blk fans from Geeks.com a while back but haven't had time to test them yet. Burcakb said he thought they were Yate Loons and that I should try them. Upon examining the fans and comparing them to Yate Loons website, it is impossible to tell if they are the sleeve bearing or ...

Interitus, I have read in other forums (Anandtech I believe) that some have been having success using the ASUS A8N SLI board. There seems to be enough clearance for the Zalman NB Cooler and the VF 700 CU with a little trimming and careful placement. How do you like those D12SM-12 Yate Loon fans? I j...

Trip, are you referring to the position of the CPU from front to back or up-down? I may have missed something important here but am unclear from your post. All I had to go on was extrapolating from the schematic in the manual as I do not have the board to actually measure from. Isn't the critical me...

Thanks for the feedback Clocker. You have confirmed what I have been hearing, that this case needs some planning to get full use of its potential. It is a beautiful case and I think worth the extra work to get it working right. I am planning to place an exhaust fan behind the HDD cage to help with c...

MikeC, Thanks for weighing in with your preliminary results on the Freezer 4. It is heartening to see that they are capable of producing an excellent cooling product. How do you think that cooler will compare with the Freezer 64? If they are both similar in performance and cooling design then it wil...

Matte, Great system there. I would consider a different video card or cooler. That card is plenty powerful but a passively cooled GeForce 6800 would be much quieter -or possibly one cooled with a quiet fan like the Zalman VF-700 CU. I am not aware of any current generation boards (PCI-E) that have a...

Yah Christian, your right about that! The tremendous weight of that cooler could be perfectly supported by this particular case design. That would be tremendous. Daws, if you can, look at the placement of the CPU socket on the PCB (motherboard). You should not have to modify the tunnel if you get a motherboard with the right dimensions and placement. I believe that the K89XP-9 may be a little high for many of the tower type HSF's. You might get by with that ...

Need a cooler for my Silverstone TJ06 (Upside down mounting)

This is a question primarily for those who have experience with this case: I have started building a new quiet system using the Silverstone TJ06 case which has the BTX style and upside down mobo mounting. It lends itself to using a tower style cooler such as the Coolermaster Hyper-6, Tt Silent Tower...

Which cooler for the Silverstone T06?

Are there any more comments/success stories with using this case? I have one and am looking for the right cooler to install. I am thinking of using the new MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum mobo as its CPU socket measures exactly 8 Cm from the bottom edge of the board which should put it right in the center of ...

Burcakb. I am slightly disappointed that I cannot undervolt any further as well. I am not running overclocked at 1.4V -in fact slightly underclocked at 2160Mhz (240 x 9). I could not undervolt and be prime stable at stock speed so I had to slow it some to get anything. I confirmed this in further te...

Frankgehry, I might look into that Mcubed Tbalancer, looks interesting. Great suggestions. Burcakb, I went ahead and bought 5 Yate Loon fans (an extra 2 for the price of 3.75 couldnt be beat!). Would you say that they are a better choice for chassis fans than the Panaflows? This is my current set-up...

I have to agree here with Birmecham. I have the H1A mounted on the XP-90 and it undervolts very nicely. It has a very pleasant sonic signature at 1200-1500RPM and is reasonably quiet over a wide spread from 1000 to 2500 RPM. Your best choice here is M1A or H1A. You can always undervolt them or turn ...

Thanks Frank. I agree with your philosophy that if I get some more fans I would like the option to turn them up if need be- I like that flexibility. The Panaflo L1A's can be turned up to cool but my understanding the Nexus are less likely to be very effective unless running at full speed. I plan to ...

Burcakb, I am trying to quiet a high perfomance system without sacrificing performance for ultimate quietness. When gaming or overclocking, I dont want to be flirting with disaster by running at extreme temps. To me anything above 55C is out of the question (I would like to stay below 50C). I have n...

New system, unsure of temps/fans to use? (edited)

Hello, I have recently built this system. I have not installed any software to monitor fan speed and temps yet as I am not sure what is best. These are my questions: In the Bios, there are 3 temps: the CPU reads around 41C under load, reading for one of the other 2 temps is usually close the the CPU...

Best PSU

Kheoin, IMHO the best V 2.0 PSU right now is the Enermax Noistaker 701 series. Yes it is $169, but it is quiet powerful and meets all requirements for the most futureproof system,. 600 watts may be overkill, but you asked for the best. I cannot even hear mine the fans are turning so slow. QUiet, pow...
