I was gutted when Nathan breezed past me...am glad I'm catching up again! If I can just beat Kansakilla to that goalpost first...i'll give myself a prize 8) btw TSC may stand for 'The Source Code' but I'm not sure. And I think SPCR should get extra points for folding QUIETER than the rest

Hi Folks and Folkesses, am running XP SMP client on Asus Striker, 2gb ram and C2D6600 at stock. Have had no instability issues since it was installed (2 months?) and am folding 1% every 15mins on this current 2610 project  Also running normal XP client on 3.2 prescott, 1gb ram....was reading th...

though air-cooled cars are much louder than watercooled. This is probably because of the water-jacket around the explosions though.

Once you have explosions in your PC case, it might be too late to worry about the HSF

unlike filament bulbs, LED's are polarity sensitive. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any standard/consensus between the case manufacturers and the motherboard makers on how the connections are made. I regularly have to move pins around in a 3-pin connector to make an LED light up properly. Mo...

the material used as well as the shape is pretty critical. Perhaps you can pack the eggbox with some sound-deadening material.

at temperatures just below where thermal throttling kicks in by the look of it. 80C ? I'm thinking that's gonna half the lifespan of the cpu compared to water....but I don't know whether that means 1 yr compared to 2....or 2 years compared to 4 etc. I would think after 2 years you might want a new C...

that's a C2D, motherboard, ram and graphics (PCIe) you mean. And possibly a ATX2.0 PSU aswell. The jump to C2D is very tempting.....but i know i'm gonna want to overclock and run at 100% CPU 24/7.... so will that all work on 5V air? If it's gonna be 12V air then i'm back to the same noise levels tha...

I had a quiet aircooled system in my bedroom (Ducted zalmann9500, tagan480 psu, 12cm inlet and outlet with T-balancer controlling things) but I've recently started folding 24/7 and I need everything on full to keep it (P4 3.2) under 60C. I wonder if the previous posters could qualify their arguments...

i see, so the acetal is the rigid plastic stuff. The thing i'm still seeing though is...... alot of preparation and adding stuff to keep the metal parts happy, I was just posing the question of what materials would make tap water feasable and no added extras. are there non-metals that insulate heat ...

Any Watercooling components made from non-metals?

just wondered if gold-plating was the be all and end all of corrosion or if there is a market for say ceramic waterblocks (ie no metal in contact with fluid)
what do you experts think 8)

depends if you want 5v or more? if 5v then you can just pop out the red-wire pin from the 3-pin header on end of fan cable.......... and stick it into the back of a molex connector (one in use) in the red wire entry hole. If this isnt possible you could cut the red wire of the molex and strip both e...

you also have a market in those who have the m-Cubed T-ban, and want proper DC outputs to some of their devices. The T-ban digital doesn't do this as stock, and the attenuators only help a little. The T-ban kicks out PWM but it isnt a square-wave, they says its like a sine wave from 0v-12v-0v etc. I...

if you really have no hardware you can cut and splice wires. you might also be able to take the red-wire-plus-pin out of the 3-pin header (that plugs into motherboard) and slot it into the back of any MOLEX. on the MOLEX yellow is 12v and red is 5V

i also have the full T-ban. It said on the blurb it can run in either PWM or 'traditional analogue' modes...though it turns out its just PWM (m-cubed style which means no square waves), but also when I received this info M-cubed said the miniNG can run in both modes properly. If it has the same inte...
