Scythe Samurai Z with socket 775 ?

I have to mount a cheap and "silent enough" cooler on a PIV 630, is the Scythe good enough ? No OC, no need of a dead silent PC.

very good review Mike, as usual..., very interesting the various configs to match the most silent combination. A couple of questions: would you say that those new fans from Scythe are quiter than the "usual" Nexus ? I believe that CPU temps should drop down a bit using a Thermalright XP90/90-C with ...

actually I haven't specified what "affordable" means to me :D

Are you telling me you've paid $500 for an instruments that reaches 25db ? Or $500 for the microphone ?

BTW, if that was for the mic only  .., how much did you pay for the B&K ?

Help me to find some affordable sound measurement instrument

I'd like to find a good instrument to measure ambient noise, seems that most of the instruments that goes under 30db costs really a lot..., not to mention under 20db... Without looking for a pro equipment like the one used from SPCR, is there any affordable instrument that reaches approx 25db ? than...

I have been using this power supply in my SLI system for more than a month now and I couldnt be happier. Previous I had tried the Neo550 which of course didnt work with my Asus board. I also tried the Seasonic S12 but found it to louder than the Nexus. The nexus runs cool and quiet 90% of the time....

Yes, I'm aware of those variables, I didn't mentioned because I just wanted to know approximatively the temp. Under BIOS the max was 29°, but under Windows, idle, Everest reports 70° , beeing too much difference beetwen the two reads, I'm skeptical on the Everest read so I'd like to know if ...

A real alternative to Nexus 120mm with open corners ?

I have to build an HTPC, but I don't really want to mess with the closed corners of the Nexus 120mm, of course I want to place the fan on top of a Thermalright XP-120, I was thinking on an Ys-tech, but in the forum of silenthardware.de, it doesn't have big reputation... maybe an Aeroccol turbine 100...
