Well in case it is helpful for comparison, I've used the ZM17CU on the Ti4600 with no problems. I think that generally the Ti4800 is a Ti4600 with an 8X AGP interface...

PCP&C claims an MTBF of 100,000+ hours for these ballbearing fans. I've never seen one fail or degrade in any way.

I have this hard disk in my laptop and it's very quiet. There is NO whine and some very soft seeks (only when you are pressing your ear against it ;)). I agree, there are many reasons one could have for choosing a "favorite" format. Personally, I nowadays just use EAC to pull best-quality disk images directly to .wav/.cue. I prefer the simplicity/compatibility, have no problem with space, and never want to worry about it any further than that. :D 8)

I currently have the intel boxed heatsink/fan solution for the p3-933 (coppermine?) its a socket 370 chip, and after solving other noise problems id like to quiet this down.
