As always, nice review. So who's still buying $300 "performance" hard-drives? Film-editors? Does WD reveal any of their market insights when they send a model for review?

Pretty much anybody who wants a reliable storage. You can have WD Reds for a lot less, however, single drive reliability of high capacity WD Reds is not quite stellar.
