You don't need to buy extension cables with Antec Phantom 500, Antec P180, and ASUS A8N SLI Premium The main ATX cord is one of the longest I have seen and the AUX 12V is even longer so don't worry. In my setup (not even close in clearance to the one in this thread, could be some day I will try ...) all cables feet nicely, the 12V aux even surrounds the motherboard to arrive to the top left corner where the aux conector lies in the A8N SLI Premium.
One thing you should have in mind is that you will probably have to remove the 38 mm TriCool for a good cable management (The Phantom 500 is 18cm long, I have not tryed to mount it with the mentioned fan installed, it feets, but the back of the PSU and the TriCool fan must be nearly touching themselves so I decided to remove the fan from the begining). The PSU runs hot to the touch (I'm thinking in buying a frontal panel monitor) although rock stable and with excelent voltages even under full load.

My power supply is sleeved similar to yours....I have a PC Power & Cooling PSU. Is it safe to have the 4 pin ATX power supply running underneath the motherboard? I am worried about EMI and possibly shorting out the motherboard.
Your advice is appreciated.

EMI should not be an issue with any cable running near your MOBO or other components. Most are unsheilded against emmisions but equally the emmisions from the cables are tiny.

Excellent rig there, dynamiks. Good pictures of the progression, with some good explanations too. I really enjoyed the thread.
Just two points:
1) I think the previous setup's wiring seemed slightlier tidier (if that's even possible), but it's still a drool-worthy machine
2) What does it matter if you choose to have glowing blue LED's in your case. Even if I don't personally like them, it's your PC and has to make you happy, right? As long as you aren't risking your machine's performance or safety (which CCFL's do), have fun man.

Awesome rig you got there dynamiks. It 'looks' alot quieter than your previous build (no more mobo chipset fan
). You know what the icing on the cake would be? Soft mount the fans using either EAR gromets or silicon gaskets.

I'm having a major 'duh' moment here because I just can't figure out where all your 12v power cables went. Can you take a shot of the motherboard side of the case with that panel off, showing how you snaked everything up through there? I don't think you've already posted one with your current build.
I rebuilt my P180 last night and got excited when I realized I could run SATA power through the little hole at the corner of the lower chamber fan frame, thanks to the Neopower modular cables. I hated having a cable come up from the back lower chamber, into the main area, and go back down into the front.

Dynamiks - Don't know if this has been covered already, but how come you aren't using the lower chamber for your drives?
Would the hdd's int he lower chamber with a 120mm fan pulling air over them give you greater airflow int he upper chamber due to less obstruction?
Also - how do you find the Sunbeam fan contoller? I bought one to replace an older Coolmaster one (Silver with 4 dials) and found it to be worse... I liked the dual coloured LED's and the "off" feature, however I didnt' like the way the ramped down the voltage to zero...

dynamiks, what temps are you getting on the new 7800GTX? I'm using stock cooling without overclocking and getting 46-50C idle and 65-75C under load.
