Another P180 post! need suggestions on improvements!

Post by Hamaser » Fri Aug 26, 2005 9:57 pm

I got the Antec P180 a while back, and the cables were pretty messy when I first installed them. so yesterday I finally decided to take it apart and redo all the cables and the placement of everything.

It's not as good as the other P180s in this forum.. but I guess it's average.

I'm trying to make this as quiet and cool as possible with the stuff I have, so can you guys please tell me or suggest anything that can be improved or changed?
thanks!

the specs:
MSI K8N Neo4 SLI Platinum
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
PNY 1GB DDR400 RAM (with heat spreaders)
Samsung 200GB SATA2 Spinpoint SP120 hard drive
Antec Truepower 430W power supply
ATI Radeon X300
Zalman NB47J Northbridge heatsink
-Coolermaster white LED 80mm fan (in the VGA duct) with zalman fanmate set to medium (barely audible)
-2 120mmx25mm (intake) fans, one for the hard drive in the front panel, one at the top
-1 120x38mm fan for the outtake, rear.
-small PCI slot outtake fan
-stock CPU cooler. will change to Zalman CNPS-7000B-AlCu soon.

the VGA duct fan. it's used as an intake to cool the passively cooled video card and the Zalman heatsink

the hard drive is in the center compartment (not the lower one), and there is a 120mm fan next to it.

"critique" and suggestions welcome!

and a small question.. how much do you think this would sell for if I put in a MSI 6600GT (with Zalman VF700-AlCu) and a LG cd/dvd combo burner drive + secondary LG dvd-rom?

thanks.
