a quiet o.c opteron 180 2750 MHZ in antec p-150...updated...

Post by raziell » Sun Oct 01, 2006 1:41 pm

moved from opteron 146 to DC 180,i"m runnig it on 2750 mhz 250x11 with 1.45 vcore(insted of 2400 mhz in the originel), i also moved from 3700 bqe to p-150.
my spec is :
opteron 180 ( engineer sample) @ 2750 mhz
scythe ninja with nexus 120 on 5v
dfi sli dr (got it on great price in thailand)
2 gb g.skill hz runnig on 250 in 3-4-4-8
2 WD 200 GB S-ATA RAID 0
SAPPHIRE X800XL with zalman vf-700cu(will stay until dx10 cards,for now it"s fine)
a zalman NB47J replaced the old noise one that come with the dfi
2 Panaflo FBA09A12L1A in the front on 5v
SEASONIC 430W
EIZO S1910 .
i just put my old antec 120 fan that come with my old 3700 case,it"s in the upper chamber above the hd cage and it"s run on 5V to.
the computer is very silent ( in the sleeping room) and i"m happy with him,i think i managed to achieve a strong and silent machine.
love this place

Wait...
WHAT!? An Opteron 280 in a S939 mobo? I've never heard anything like that...

Nice system though!

I'm curious too!

Opteron 280.. Aren't those socket 940? How do you make them fit into a S939 board??

kool.
first off, what theme+icons is that?

second, why the 3rd fan (antec)? what is the temp difference with/without?

have you considered a psu duct?

btw, i have the same case and mobo. i used to run my 7800 in the bottom slot @ 8x with the zalman like you but i found i couldnt use any of the slots below that way. if that is a problem in the future i recommend checking out the jing ting (check my sig for one). i managed to use the top pci-e slot with it. also check out a thread here with a ton of modified heatsinks (some better than others).

i check with the guy i bought it and it"s a es ( engineer sample) it"s relly a opteron 180 939 socket that the cpu-z is recordnized it like opteron 280...
that is way it can fit to 939 mobo.
Image
you can see in the cpu-z that the socket is 940,but it"s relly a 939 socket.
for matava : the theme is from style xp and it called watercolor blue the icons called xp-icandy they are also from style xp.
the 3rd fan is in some testing,i think i will lose him.
for the bottom slot,i cheack a little bit on the web,the diffrence between 16X and 8X is 1% - 3% so i will stick with the bottom slot for now, i also don"t wan"t to move it to the upper slot beacuse it will increse the heat near the cpu and will hurt the air flow in the case.
NyteOwl: that"s definitely a great scotch [/b]

Hi,

Could you post pictures from the back of your motherboard tray ? I've just had an Antec SOLO and a Seasonic S12-500; and I can't manage to hide all the PSU cables like you did

Thanks !

It's too expensive everywhere. That is, if you can even find it. I wouldn't recommend buying a whole bottle of it.

But if you can find a restaurant that serves it, try some sometime if you've not had it before.

:D the blue label... hmmm, it's sooo expensive, don't think i'm ever gonna try it

last week i bought a large blue balantines tho, for a guy who did me a favor. the bottle was on my desk for a few days, as i waited for a chance to give it to him, and i have to say it was hard to resist... in the end i left it intact... uffff

;)
