NZXT HTPC build photos

Post by phil0079 » Mon Mar 23, 2009 5:44 am

so ive added the following
NZXT duet HTPC case
acoustipak soundproofing
Nocora 92mm fans
ninja Mini

here is how it all came together..

you see 1 stock NZXT fan and one Scythe. i've since removed the stock.
I have plans to replace this 80mm Scythe that came with my ninja mini with a Noctua 80mm.

i used the extra acoustipak any where i could :)

you don't see it in this pic.. but i have padded the entire case door. which means both bottom and top of the case are padded using acoustipak foam.

and... the final product.. as you can see, lots of space for cooling once the htpc is in its final spot.

any comments or suggestions.. let me know

cheers

Are you sure that PSU is going to be ok, having the vent blocked off like that?

The vent is actually ducted underneath...I have the same case.
Glad to see someone else got this case and gave it a go--quite nice looking for the price!
Watch the temps on the drive in the internal 3.5" bay.
I eventually moved mine to the unused 5.25" bay with the Scythe HD Stabilizer II
You can mount 120mm fans on either end as well...
Looks nice!

i did not post those pictures but the case does vent on top as well for the PSU.

it has a vent grill directly above the PSU fan.

thanks psiu for the idea.. thanks again for this idea for the HDD stabilizer.

you are the man!

so far.. so good. its super quiet and super cool.

:) cheers

Do you think the acoustipak is worth it?

it does muffle the sound of the hdd and fans.

for example, i've noticed a huge difference from my older case w/out acoustipak

i wouldnt say its worth it cause the shipping almost doubled the purchase price. so be careful.

consider it without/shipping and its worth every penny.

:)

cheers
