Zalman 7k,NF7-S v2, installs in LX-6A19 case?
Will I have a problem installing this combo? I know about the mods to make the Zalman 7000 work on the mobo... I mean, will this fit ok in the case? Has anyone got this configuration?

I dont' really remember which ABIT mobo it was but I think you have to modify the zalman heatsink to fit it.
Something about cut or shaving off a metal part of it.
do a search you'll come up with it.
But if you're going to spend that type of money why not spend a little more and go with a Thermalright SP-97 which outerperforms the Zalman
And in the same price range the Thermalright SLK-900, theres a review on this comparing it to the Zalman, and it beats it by a slim margin.
www.svc.com sells both for very good prices.

I know how to do it. I know the mods. That was what I was sayingNetTechie wrote:I know about the mods to make the Zalman 7000 work on the mobo...
SP-97, main reason I'm thinkin for the Zalman 7k is it's silent. SP-97 can't be decoupled as well, is a LOT more heavy... posing a greater risk to the CPU when moving case, and is more expensive.
My Question here is not about cooling. My question is: Does the NF7-S w/Zalman 7k FIT in the LX-6A19 case or does it hit the PSU or otherwise not fit.
I had a very similar question with my Antec SLK3700AMB which is identical internally to the LX-CA19. According to this thread it will fit in a similar setup in a Sonata with about 5mm clearance, and the AMB is roomier (higher), so when I (finally) get round to doing the installation, I don't think there should be any problems.
There's a picture of a 7000A installed on that very motherboard here. I wouldn't advise copying this guy's PSU mods though...

Hmm... I still would feel better to hear it from someone who's done it. Good picture tho, does show what problem we're dealing with here.nick705 wrote:I had a very similar question with my Antec SLK3700AMB which is identical internally to the LX-CA19. I'd call this an "Outlived by your computer" mod.nick705 wrote:I wouldn't advise copying this guy's PSU mods though...
