Quiet Case (and PSU) for Mini-ITX

Post by propheci » Fri Jul 23, 2004 5:10 pm

hi, i have a mini-itx computer currently running in a CK-1010 [1]. it's got a 150W PSU, which is plenty for the system. i just have the board, RAM, and a 3.5" hard drive. however, the PSU is louder than i'd like it. it's nothing compared to my full tower but at night, it's not exactly silent.

i've been looking around for a mini-itx case with a silent PSU. i've found many mini-itx cases but not very many reviews of them. so i don't know how quiet they are. most review sites (such as SPCR) mostly only do atx-size ones.

does anyone have any recommendations? i'd like a mini-itx case with room for a 3.5" HD (as opposed to 2.5"). i don't need expansion card room. thank you very much.

what processor are you using in your system? that's essential to know before making suggestions.

i really like the casetronic cases - this one allows a 3.5" hard drive, a slim cd, and has an external power brick, no power supply noise at all! with no expansion cards, you should be able to get away without a fanned power supply altogether!
