What case with 5.25 bay cooling?

Enclosures and acoustic damping to help quiet them.

I think fabre's asking if there are any cases with intake fans in the 5.25" areas. I'm guessing "no", although it should be simple enough to co-opt two empty bays and stick a big fan in there.

There other thing fabre might be asking is if any cases come with a 5.25" bay slot cooler, and for that, I also think the answer is "no" (they are readily available at most computer component stores).

The Evercase ECE4252 provides some ventilation through the 5.25" bays. It's not much compared to the main front intake, but a lot more than most cases do.

The reason for my question is both My drives are on Sunbeam HD Silencer, a no vibes clone, except you can mount a 80mm fan underneath.

So suspended in 5.25 bay without cooling the drives get so hot the system can crash.
I mounted a 80mm under both drives, but this mean each drive takes 2 bays.

To get one bay back I cut off the bottom of the 5.25 enclosure.
So now both drive fits in 3 bay out of 4. But I have 2 optical drives I want to use.

By adjusting the rails I managed to lower the bottom drive a bit more, giving enough space to fit the second drive just above with a slim 80mm.
But it's so close it can't get enough air. Top drive is then 7 degrees warmer than the bottom one.

At 40 degrees with a well below 20 degrees ambient temperature, I feel this is to hot for comfort especially when the summer will be on us.
And at 40 it's also the hottest component.

That's why I am looking for a case that provide 5.25 bay cooling.
Apparently the CM Stacker comes with 5.25 bay covers that are all wire mesh covered, I guess 5.25 bay would benefit from this, but the Stacker is to big for my needs.

Also noticed the Tisonic Breeze

With side door in mesh an the top in mesh as well, this probably allow for a good airflow. in the 5.25 bay.

I already looked for the Evercase ECE4252 but it seems impossible to get in Canada.

All you have is two drives? If you are buying a new case, you could look at any case with a HD cage, and just suspend the whole cage at the bottom in front of the intake, instead of individually suspending each drive. Look around here for "Thor's hammer". I think there are a few other HD-cage-suspension pictures around here, but "Thor's hammer" is easy to remember :)

Guess I am going to get an SLK3000B since the Evercase 4252 in Black is impossible to find in Canada, and go the Thor's Hammer way.

Beats the Coolermaste CM Stacker that I was going to suggest (it does have 5.25 bay cooling).

I had thought of the CM Stacker but the thing is huge and expensive, and for just providing cooling to 2 suspended drives, It's a bit overkill.

On second thought I am planning on Foaming the case, I am expecting some be quiet! with the foam I might not be able to go fit the drive cage horizontally.

I will try the Aphonos' 2-Drive Suspension, but I think I will suspended the drive with some nexus disktwin or a ZALMAN ZM-2HC1 mounted on them.
