I'm trying to make my new high-end gamingPC as silent as possible and i was going to gofor a Antec P150 case.

However my wife does like the look&feel of this case. Any recommendation for a more stylish case apart from the P150 or the Sonata?

I need a mid-size case.

esieens did you show her the black model? It's very discrete, neat and stylish compared to the original "silvery" version. Also introduce her to the SPCR Special Edition version. Both are essentially the same. Good luck!

I've shown to my wifes the Thermaltake, coolermaster and Antec cases and she is still not happy.

She would like something as stylish a Mac Mini for example. Obviously not so small..

For my requirement it needs to be bale to take a ATX motherboard. My wife liked the Thermaltake BAch for example.

Any other recommendation?

I have no experience with it, but it looks nice and seems to have most of the main essentials for quiet computing:

1. Standard ATX layout without side vents.
2. Large intake and exhaust fans (both 120mm; you don't want anything smaller than 80mm fans).
3. Enough space for tall CPU coolers (most horizontal cases lack this)

On the downside, it has a couple common problems:

1. Restrictive front intake--a very common problem, but one which can be worked around by opening up the PCI slots and/or cutting up the front intake grill (hidden behind the front bezel, so it's not ugly).
2. Restrictive hard drive cage. For quiet computing purposes, the best hard drive cage is none at all, actually--an unrestricted flat space on the front bottom of the case is the perfect place for a number of excellent drive suspensions. It's not obvious to me whether the hard drive cage is easily removeable.


Anyway, here are a couple horizontal cases which look suitable:

I don't think they can take tall CPU heatsinks, though.

I have one of these cases from Monarch. No sticker on it though, it's black aluminum. I have both the window side panel and the non window side panel. It's a Lian Li oem case as far as I can tell. Has a 265 watt psu I believe.

If you want stylish you could try some of the Lian-Li cases such as the Lian-Li PC-7B, or the Lian-Li V1000+.

Just be warned that these cases don't come cheap, and their silencing ability will not match the P150 straight out of the box. However, add a Seasonic S12 PSU, some Nexus fans, a Sythe Ninja and some acoustic foam and they shoud be quiet enough.
