SLK3000B question : AM I CRAZY???

Post by Mandachuva » Fri Apr 21, 2006 10:50 pm

Finally, after 2 months of waiting (Long live Romania!), I managed to get my hands on an Antec SLK 3000B... Happily, I started assembling my new A64 system.

Everything went well, until I TRIED to put in my CD/DVD players/writers. I simply couldn't find any way of fastening them to the case! Could anyone help me, please? With pics and explanations... :)

There should be some rails supplied with your case (these). Bolt one rail to each side of the drive (with screws) and push it into the bay. It should lock with a solid click.

Great, just great....

The cardboard box in which the case came had inside ONLY the case - no screws, no rails, no nothing... Best thing is, I bought it from Bucharest (1200km away from where I live :(), AND through a friend...

Things seem to be getting better and better.

Sorry to hear that, but unfortunately, it seems the only way to mount the optical drives is via those rails. Perhaps you can find a source for them. If not, you can always use an external drive (or mount an internal one outside the case)...

Good luck.

where are you located? I can send you a pair of rails for the CD drive for that case if you like. Alternatively, maybe email Antec and ask if they would be willing to send you a pair.

another reason why im a fan of using standard screws :P
nah seriously, see if you can get antec to send you out a pair. i dont see them rejecting your request, coz after all, it would cost them like 50c and make a happy customer.
if not, you could take up the offer from the nice aussie lad above me 8)

The rails might be behind the plastic drive bay covers. I know many SLK's shipped that way.
