Lian Li "classical silent" range - PC-201A, PC-S80
What do people make of the new "classical silent" range of cases by Lian-li? Supposedly they are "designed for silence"... they have interesting internal layouts, including interesting arrangements for the hard drives.

Lian Li PC-S80
(it seems that the PC-S80 is being positioned as a competitor to the Antec P180. It features "a two layer design for decreasing noise" and other silencing features including a CPU duct.)

Perhaps the most interesting (from an aesthetic perspective at least) is the rather uniquely styled PC-V300 "mini-tower":

Opinions?

I like the Lian Li PC-S80, and from reviews it looks like a decent case to.
Im not sure how much it is but judging by other lianli case prices i can imagine this to be cheap. No sure if i live with my self shelling out alot of money for a case.

EDIT: will SPCR be doing a review on the PC-S80? If so i wait in antisipation

To me the PC-101 looks like a nice case, and a good concept, but it is still shrouded in mystery...
EDIT: I just noticed it's on the SPCR upcoming reviews list...

S80 looks like the most silence oriented case of the bunch. However, it's still aluminum and two the airflow as I see from the pictures seems a little too convoluted and restricted, it's possible that this case won't be able to cool my relatively power hungry rig (although for low power cool running rigs it might have actually been very good, if it wasn't for aluminum and price of course). I don't see HDD soft mounting either.
Me hugs his P180, I'll never sell my baby...

That's very subjective. I prefer straight classic lines. V1000 IMO looks fugly. S80 on the other hand is very decent.jwoolen01 wrote:I agree with Day. The V1000 is an awesome case. In my opinion, Lian Li took a step backwards with these new cases. All of their existing cases look better than the new ones. I was hoping for something to supercede the V1000, but that doesn't seem like it's gonna happen, at least not by Lian Li.
