Saw the first one some years ago. Interesting but I don't see much advantage except maybe cost, never been able to get a figure on that. But then I spend a lot on components and one of the primary purposes of a case is to protect what's inside. Somehow cardboard doesn't impress me on that account. Nor do the looks.

The folding case is interesting but what's the point? How does it folding do me any good? Maybe cost savings for shipping.

Ho Hum, but thanks for the post, I'd much rather have an occasional unimpressive post than potentially miss something whammy-zhammy!

Those Lupo cases aren't cheap at all. At least at the time when I saw them, they were near the $100 mark.

Damn, those look cool; I bet they will be hideously expensive though.

Yeah, very nice. Could be quite effective in cooling as well or the opposite, ceramics are strange materials.

Costs could be quite low once they get the forms made. And the labor involved is pretty low intellect. Rote behavior.

It seems like all AOpen did was take out all the rivets and made the case a bit more user-friendly to assemble.
My Mums mercury KOB-85 seems to be assembled in a similar way (but with rievets)

I do wish Thermaltake did that with the Xaswr 5 Wingo, it would have made it easier to assemble without the trial and error of removing bits.

Cardboard would cut down on the weight, one would think. But it would not provide any electromagnetic shielding.

Ceramic case might also provide no shielding, but maybe since there looks to be much finesse behind the Kapsel case, perhaps they embedded a thin metallic layer somewhere.

Just playfully speculating......

Now if they would just start making components which can be folded to smaller space...
