Speak for yourself! I have painted some of my cases flat black inside a long time ago, and im probably not the only one.Konnetikut wrote:It's interesting how no one has thought of that before.
I assume you meant manufacturers though, and i too am surprised that there has been no black painted case widely available. I think that's just good though, when black interiors get common they also get boring. They look nice but... it's like a silver car, it looks nice but half the cars are silver so it gets boring really fast. Though black cars never get boring, and maybe that applies to computer cases too, i don't know.

Oh, but it has. It's the Kingwin KT-436 (discontinued).Konnetikut wrote:I've fallen in love with black interiors. It's interesting how no one has thought of that before.

the best part of the 182 is the wiring adjustments - but im glad i got the 180 cause now i have a reason to get a dremel
what they should have done, and what would have pissed me off that i just got the 180b - is to make the thing 2 inches longer!
with psu's getting longer as well as graphics cards, and the hard drive cage such a mess with 4 hard drives in the bottom, it would have been the smar tthing to do.

P182 release date
Hi everyone waiting for the P182...
Just send a mail to Antec... received an answer after <5 minutes...:
"The P182 will go into production in Asia around the end of this month. So it
should hit stores, allowing for transit time, around March 1."

Dang! I should have looked more careful before I jumped the gun on a P180B...
I bought an original silver P180 a year or so ago, around the big SPCR review that got me into silent PCs in teh first place. I had to move recently and didn't have a car, so I had to entrust the case to the movers. They damaged it, bending corners and basically making the case unsalvageable. When I saw the Fry's deal for a $79.99 black P180B + free shipping I jumped on it, even though I don't plan to reassemble a PC in it for a few months. Now I wish I had waited... the cable management setup looks really nice.
Oh well, such is my confidence in SPCR that I'm sure we'll see a nice P180-->P182 mod guide in the forums or on the main page... hint hint Mr. Chin!

It's a decent case though for my choice it would have been nice if they had put the speed controls on the front behind the door and the water line access holes where they put the speed controls. That could have left the rear perforations above the card slots to give more options in cooling.
As always, hard to make a case that suits everyone.

Well, I see it. I know it's there. And I can show it off in the Gallery.Ender17 wrote:lol, why do you care what color the interior is if you can't see it?tempeteduson wrote:Here's another vote for black interiors... but no windows! Are you listening, Antec?
Again, not that important, but would be nice.

Yes it looks better, but it wil not be "unique". I always laugh when a company tries to market something with "be unique" or "street credibility" or something else similar.. I am not saying that is what Antec is doing, so don't shoot me.

There are some more pictures of the base model and concept P182.
I would definitely love to get a hold of that mirrored finish concept.

I just found this on a local supplier's site!Rusty075 wrote:- The 182 SE is probably not destined for retail sale.

I think the main problem with this conversion would be the motherboard plate. Not very easy to move thatpkruger wrote:Yeah, that will be awesome!Ryan Norton wrote:Oh well, such is my confidence in SPCR that I'm sure we'll see a nice P180-->P182 mod guide in the forums or on the main page... hint hint Mr. Chin!
My P180 should come next week and I am pretty determined to run the cables behind the plate. So who knows, a guide may just show up
